The Your Fav Album/EP/12"/10"/7" Of The Moment Thread!

Right…well at the moment I’m going absolutely BANANAS over Scuba’s new album “Triangulation”. Friggin awesome dark, DEEP and atmospheric organic Dubstep/Techno sound with a real Berlin flavour…truly amazing and a mile different from his debut. This one’s a dancefloor killer as well as an amazing home listening experience if you’re lucky enough to have a bad-ass bass heavy sound system.

Also loving the Gonjasufi album at the moment…wild stuff!

2010 is producing some brilliant music so far.

What’s wrong with the “what are you listening to” thread?

What’s wrong with the “what are you listening to” thread?

It’s the “What Are You Listening To Thread” not the “Your Fav Album/EP/12”/7" Of The Moment" thread.

Surely that’s obvious?

I’m listening to some Wiley song right now…Now I’m not going to put that in this thread due to it not being my “Fav Album/EP/12”/7" Of The Moment".

I hope this clears things up.

Guess this makes sense. Current favorite right now has been the new Dillinger Escape Plan. Just picked up the legit mp3 album off album a little while ago, and it sounds even more amazing. Not sure if this is my album of the year, but it’s certainly a contender. What i’ve been listening to the most anyway. Just fucking brutal and all over the place. Love it.

Anything by William Basinski.

He’s the 21st Century’s answer to Eno - if that makes sense.

Twitch and DSOTS. I fuckin’ love Prongs.

At the moment it’s still Scuba’s “Triangulation” by a country mile along with the Horrific Child and Gonjasufi album.

DEVASTATING!!!

At the moment my fave album is ‘Y’ by The Pop Group.

But this will probably change by the weekend.

I’m always falling in and out of love with records.

Also really diggin’ Thurston Moore’s Psychic Hearts.

Jonsi - Go. It’s a bit too upbeat, but there’s something about it that keeps me coming back for more.

PIG- Wrecked. After listening to this album it really makes me wish that Raymond Watts stayed with nothing records. He could’ve been the no. 3 big name off the label along with nin and manson…

Goldfrapp - Black Cherry, so beautiful and serene.

nothing records was some real wasted potential as a label.

Caribou’s Anddora and Swim…good times!

It was. Around that time they were even releasing Neubauten. A lot of good stuff came from Nothing.

And I think I can also say that Raymond Watts is a huge waste of talent. One crafty son of a bitch, but he takes forever to one thing, or just doesn’t do it at all. Laziness? So much waste of talent and potential there. Still waiting on the new Pig album. What or if that’ll ever happen, who knows?

ain’t that the truth… i don’t think they really had any bad releases

Watts seemed fed up w/the industry last i heard. I mremember an old interview where he was comparing east vs west politics in releasing shit. how he liked how in china a simple handshake over a dinner could be a contract, word is bond type shit, and here it’s all cutthroat write it all out or it never happened.
I know he was pisesd when he was on nothing that trent promoted manson heavily and left him basically with zero backing for his 2 cds.

he’s old too, mid 40’s right? I think he has a kid and a wife. he made his money off the rights from all those kmfdm hits used in movies that he wrote.
and then supposedly there’s some drug and/or alcohol problem but that’s rumors.

Raymond divorced I think while still in KMFDM. And also, I think he only had one album on Nothing, Sinsation. Think Wrecked was TVT/Wax Trax. I know he’s still doing music, sorta. He does commercial shit now mostly, but apparently has a Pig album about halfway done, just missing vocals. But I saw on his site, that he’s been doing commercials in asia, and fashion show stuff somewhere. So he’s not scraping by, by any means. His work ethic in Pig has always been a bit on the questionable side though.

he definately recycles a bit of his lyrics too… i know some book came out in sweden (or some euro country not enland) that he did the soundtrack for.

Don’t think the book ever got released. Last I heard, they were still waiting on him to finish the songs.

Heres something I found on the PIG forum on theswining.com

Wonderful

Now comes kinginkmagazine.com be resurrected again (in March). Check out the unique and exclusive interviews by me with tex Martin Atkins (PIL, Killing Joke, Pigface and others), Dorit Chrysler, ascoooola artist Gottfried Helnwein and lots of other goodies.

FINALLY will also book one room to print in March, with songs that will be downloadable for faster delivery.

Some other exciting projects will be revealed shortly. …

king ink publishing is the company Watts was doing that soundtrack for. I think its only supposed to be 4 songs. I heard a clip of one and it sounds very much like classic PIG. Watts has also been involved with doing music for fashion shows, namely for the recently deceased Alexander McQueen. He most recently co-produced the new SOW album titled Dog. He also co-wrote the music for it too. He also did a duet with Swedish singer Regina Lund which you can find on iTunes under the name Raymond & Regina

And yes to respond to one of the above posts he is pretty fed up with the record industry. Especially after the debacle with the release of his last album Pigmata. Pigmata is actually a re-release of an album called Pigmartyr which wasnt released under the PIG name but rather Watts. The album was poorly distributed and cause the label Grand Recordings to go under. Not to mention Pigmartyr wasn’t mastered properly. Metropolis then picked it up, remastered it and gave it the proper release with 3 added trax(God Rod, On The Slaughterfront and Filth Healer) and there you have his last album.

Watts has battled depression in the past which is part of the reason for the gap between Genuine American Monster and Pigmata/Pigmartyr. He’s also gone thru a divorce and has 2 kids which also may explain for the big gaps nowadays. Then theres the last 2 albums he did with KMFDM and I’m sure some of you know the travesty that was The All Hamerican PIG Show 2006 tour. So yeah things havent always been so good in the PIG camp, but I’m sure it wont be too long before we hear something new…
