I was inspired by the Test thread to really rethink how I view the various studio LPs one of my favorite bands has put out over their career. Granted, this is naturally tainted by personal opinion, but thanks to the miracle of fighting game culture, I can at least put some kind of science behind it. [laugh]
I remember when I had some pre-Calculus class in High School and I wasn’t doing my homework so nothing really made sense in class. I liked the graph paper, though, because I’d fill in the little squares and make DK logos or draw tanks.
Interesting. I agree with some of your choices/placements. Animositisomina and The Bush Trilogy fall into the “meh/lower teir/has faults” category for me. There are some enjoyable tracks here and there. It can be a chore sitting through those albums. The other albums I love start to finish.
I personally think DSOTS and FP are both “Top Tier” albums that are “Well Rounded”. Instead of throwing TLORAH in there with those two I’d put in “In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up” - which, in my opinion, is vastly superior to TLORAH.
Where’s Greatest Tricks or whatever the Cleopatra release is? Should be bottom left.
Maybe he’s going by actual albums released with “new” material (the last three sound the fucking same to me. So, I can’t really tell if the material is actually new).

I can tell Relapse apart from the last three, but as far as the Bush albums are concerned, I either a) I can’t remember the songs or b) I forget which songs are on which album.
So can I because it’s of surprisingly lower quality in every aspect. As for the Bush trilogy, yeah, I don’t remember which songs are on RGB and which are on TLS. Save for a few from RGB that I liked (Great Satan, Senor Peligro)
Nice one, Ice, this is a cool idea (regardless of what that first responder said; it’s clearly an original take on the subject, and what’s wrong with putting effort into it anyway? Are we supposed to just post half-assed pointless “it’s my opinion” crap all the time? )
Don’t have time to whip a version up now but will try later. It would look a bit different to your one but the top tier albums would roughly be the same

i wasn’t trying to be a dick or anything, but i guess i might have come off that way. sorry!
what are these faults people speak of? i love the sound of that record; it’s what makes it so unique.
We’re talking about DSOTS, right? If so, even though it’s my favorite album by the band, I can completely understand why some people wouldn’t like it. It’s not easy to listen to and it’s not the typical guitar heavy metal shit a lot of people wanted (which is why many even dislike(d) Filth Pig).
It’s pretty fucking dark and claustrophobic. And it gives off a vibe that, to me, no other Ministry album does. Even the “joke” songs sound psychotic and a little sinister. I always thought it was successful in conveying through words and sounds someone completely losing their mind and hitting bottom - regardless of whether or not that was the band’s intention.
All of these are reasons why I love the album though. That and it has “Eureka Pile”. Which is, in my opinion, one of the best songs they’ve written and is completely underrated (then again the whole album is severely underrated).

lol agree with everything you said…but my questions still remains! everything you listed were strengths, not faults.
