Clutch will change your mind about not listening to them…
Yeah, some of my friends swear by them, that’s pretty much the only reason i’m going. I’ve heard a couple of songs, but never really given them a great deal of attention. Looking forward to seeing them though [:)]

I’m not as into them live as I am on record. I don’t want to poison your experience, so when you get back tell us what you think and I’ll tell you why that’s my opinion.
I’m going to a show tomorrow, it has quite a heavy lineup:
Herod
Voivod
Napalm Death
Obituary
Carcass
Should be fun; even though i wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to any of those bands it was too good an opportunity to miss. How often do you get to see the leaders of a genre play together on one bill like that?
Saw these two earlier this year co-headlining. Fun show.
Obituary
I heard their original bassist died of cancer this last week.
Carcass
I think I’ve missed them at least twice since the reunion. Hope they still put on a good show![/reply]
Yeah, i’d never heard of Herod myself, no idea what they’re like. Probably quite heavy, i suppose, hahaha. A friend reminded me recently that i saw Carcass last year, i’d totally forgotten somehow. Looking forward to it, should be fun.
I do not think it is possible in any dimension of reality, but I would like to challenge anyone to find a more terrible festival than this.
It’s got like a billion bands. I’ve only even HEARD OF like one or two. A lot of the bands are doing cover sets of other nobodies, hahaha!!! For instance, one band is doing a cover set of Tegan And Sara (another band I’ve only heard OF but could tell you NOTHING about and am pretty sure do NOT require a band doing an entire tribute set of their crap).
Also, you’ll notice that on some of the acts, it proudly and explicitly notes “FULL BAND!!!” which to me says that most of these losers are going to be even more incomplete than the COLDWAVES fest. You’ll probably have a girl on a clarinet tooting out a tribute to Death Cab for Cutie followed by a guy on triangle giving you a NOFX cover.

That’s pretty lame, but at least they’re actual bands.

Makes total sense that this fail fest is in Gainesville…

I gotta say, I’ve only heard of Andrew WK and Lagwagon.
But I’ve got to say, Serpentico, Tsuki, and Ultimo Panda intrigue me, and I hope they have a cage match against each other at some point.

Yeah those artists DO sound like the working pseudonyms of “luchadores,” or New Japan Wrestling characters.
Maybe the plan is to get them all together with Andrew WK as the special ‘guest referee’, whose influence will eventually end up in ‘screwing’ one of the contestants out of the title.
Then the Misfits will all come hurtling down the aisle to defend the honor of the injured party, setting the scene for the next pay-per-view.
