Oh yeah (7 years later)…I’ll be there in NYC.
LA gets HALLOWEEN.
We win.
Yes, I’m going.
I think I know what I’m doing on Devil’s Night this year. Haven’t done anything special on that night in a long time. There’s more significance to it for me than being a reference to The Crow.
So many top acts I’ve missed/missing this year
Due to shit life actions
Fuuuck…

Warfield’s a good venue, Dude!
I saw Motorhead and Sabbath there almost 20 years back.
The sound sucks there now. I pretty much vowed that I would never go there again because of it, but I may have to make an exception since it may very well be the King’s last tour.
Going to see The King is definitely on my bucket list.
Don’t suppose he’s ever going to come Down Under?
Oh well, my well worn copies of Abigail, Them and Conspiracy will have to suffice.

That’s too bad.
I wonder what went wrong.
It’s funny you mention the sound, though. My buddy and I were reminiscing the other day about the Sabbath/Motorhead show we were at.
During a guitar solo by Philip Campbell, one of the amps literally caught fire. He kept playing but started kicking it (he seemed pissed but stayed in the song) and kicked it until he kicked it right over the edge of the stage. One of the most badass things I’ve seen.

FIRE IT UP! FIRE IT UP! FIRE IT UP!

I was guessing that tickets would be about $70-$80 a piece regardless (not sure how much they are in reality) so this VIP package that includes a limited edition Dickies Jacket is pretty sweet.
Yeah, I’ll be in the up in the GA pit.
I’ll probably end up at the Montreal show. Olympia is a great venue.
I’ve never seen a show there, but Wiltern looks pretty badass.

Saw Slash at the Wiltern. It’s very Posh and very small. It will be a nice show.
It’s very Posh
Just like me! Nice!
Yeah, it’s nowhere near as big as it seems. I like the Wiltern. Just saw Meshuggah there 2 weeks ago.
I just checked capacity.
It’s 1850.
A tad bigger than House of Blues (1500).
This is gonna be great.
A weekend in Hollywood suddenly sounds like a good idea. I’m taking fall semester off, so there’s a chance I could be at the Wiltern for the first time in nearly 10 years. Plus, I’ve wondered for years what King Diamond would be like indoors.
I’ve only seen King Diamond once. (Truthfully, I really only like the Them album.)
A buddy and I went as a goof in college. To the Alrosa Villa in Columbus Ohio.
(Yes, that Alrosa Villa)
So we were drinking, chuckling and nudging each other at how silly the show was as he started. By the 2nd song, we stopped chuckling. By the 4th song we were totally into it.
As goofy as his whole aesthetic is, and the thematic content of his music, dude puts on a hell of a show. He sells that shit. We had a blast.
Your King Diamond conversion sounds just like mine for DIO about 15 years ago.
