The Blood Of Hereos

I wonder why they used the alternate title. I was thinking it was a political thing, perhaps. After Jay posted I was thinking about various skirmishes and conflicts and such, so, I don’t know . . . maybe I’m overthinking something really trivial.

Does everyone else agree that “Salute To The Jugger” is a pretty retarded name, especially when compared to “THE BLOOD OF HEROES”?

Blood of Heroes is a far superior title…

I’m just reading about it, apparently the Salute of the Jugger version is 104 mins and has a darker ending, while Blood of Heroes is 90 mins and apparently more upbeat. Never realised it was written and directed by by David Webb Peoples, who wrote 12 Monkeys, Blade Runner and Unforgiven. I’m downloading it now. Will hopefully watch it tomorrow, my housemate’s a Rutger fan now since i introduced him to Blind Fury recently [:)]

Damn. I guess I need to get the Jugger version now.

I’m downloading both but Jugger’s only got 2 seeders so it’s coming down pretty slow.

Me too…I never realized there was a longer version…I knew of the alternate title but had no idea about the additional stuff…must see…

So, Salute of the Jugger finished downloading last night, at last. I have both versions on there ready to go. I’m looking forward to seeing it, finally. I read a bit more about it and that 104 minute version is the Japanese edition; Salute runs something like 96 or 97 mins, Blood of Heroes is 90 mins, the Japanese version is the exact same as Salute but due to their PAL systems running at a slightly different frame rate, or something like that, it stretches it by a few minutes. Basically Salute of the Jugger’s the most complete version available, looks like you’ll be getting an extra 6 or 7 minutes in total over the version you’ve seen already.

the one big difference between the two is that the ending of the original cut is a little more… bleak.

you can easily find some detailed comparisons on line, apparently we arent the only fan-community out there that digs this movie. haha

and can we all talk for a minute about how awesome Vincent D’nofie is?

have any of ya’ll seen ‘Chained’?

Yeah, old Private Pyle is a great actor, i last saw him, weirdly, as Stallone’s best friend in the Sly/Arnie film Escape Plan. Good film!

In that case folks how about this gem…

I saw the above film in 3D and thought it was totally bad-ass!!! I was around 7 or 8 though so would probably think it was LAAAAAME now.

Another film I loved in that genre was…

I remember going to the movies to see this. Judging by the poster Rutger had been working out haha

HAHA!!! I actually was watching BATTLETRUCK the other day before work (it popped up in the YouTube margin while I was looking for BOH stuff).

How about this one? “Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone”.

Check out this little TV ad (I’d post the full theatrical trailer but it’s all wonky on account of the awesome 3D).

I just about spit my cereal out at the last part . . . “The first movie that puts you in outer space”.

Yeah, i remember Spacehunter, saw it a few times when i was a kid, was Michael Ironside called The Overdog or something? A friend of mine met Spacehunter himself, Peter Strauss, and his wife, the actress who played Melina in Total Recall, said they were both really lovely people.

What about Steel Dawn with Patrick Swayze? I don’t know if i ever saw it, but it looks like it fits snugly into your beloved future wasteland genre. And what’s the name of that one with the dude who, instead of having legs, has tracks? Probably some cheapo Italian shit, no doubt.

Dammit! I can actually visualise this one but can’t recall a name.

“Steel Dawn”, hahahahaha!!! I love how lazy some of these are. Just read the synopses.

“Steel Dawn is a 1987 American post-apocalyptic feature film, with elements of western science fiction. An enigmatic swordsman named Nomad, wanders through the remains of a post-World War III world. He travels the desert, in search of his mentor’s killer, the assassin Sho.”

HAHAHAHAHA!!! His name is Nomad and he wanders through the desert. Great stuff.

Ah, found it.

Steel Dawn sounds as if it was based on a song by a hair metal band or something.

ELIMINATORS!!!

Thank you!

“Steel Dawn” cracks me up . . . . considering just two years earlier Patrick Swayze was in “RED Dawn”. Talk about laziness. It’s like they knew what letters were still left from the marquees’ earlier screenings and just went with it to simplify things.

Yeah, followed by Roadhouse Dawn, Next of Kin Dawn, Ghost Dawn and Black Dog Dawn. Talk about generic!

HAHA!!!

“Outsider Dawn”
“Dirty Dawncing”

The possibilities are endless . . .

Uncomdawn Valor.
