I wonder why they used the alternate title. I was thinking it was a political thing, perhaps. After Jay posted I was thinking about various skirmishes and conflicts and such, so, I don’t know . . . maybe I’m overthinking something really trivial.
Does everyone else agree that “Salute To The Jugger” is a pretty retarded name, especially when compared to “THE BLOOD OF HEROES”?
I’m just reading about it, apparently the Salute of the Jugger version is 104 mins and has a darker ending, while Blood of Heroes is 90 mins and apparently more upbeat. Never realised it was written and directed by by David Webb Peoples, who wrote 12 Monkeys, Blade Runner and Unforgiven. I’m downloading it now. Will hopefully watch it tomorrow, my housemate’s a Rutger fan now since i introduced him to Blind Fury recently [:)]
So, Salute of the Jugger finished downloading last night, at last. I have both versions on there ready to go. I’m looking forward to seeing it, finally. I read a bit more about it and that 104 minute version is the Japanese edition; Salute runs something like 96 or 97 mins, Blood of Heroes is 90 mins, the Japanese version is the exact same as Salute but due to their PAL systems running at a slightly different frame rate, or something like that, it stretches it by a few minutes. Basically Salute of the Jugger’s the most complete version available, looks like you’ll be getting an extra 6 or 7 minutes in total over the version you’ve seen already.
Yeah, i remember Spacehunter, saw it a few times when i was a kid, was Michael Ironside called The Overdog or something? A friend of mine met Spacehunter himself, Peter Strauss, and his wife, the actress who played Melina in Total Recall, said they were both really lovely people.
What about Steel Dawn with Patrick Swayze? I don’t know if i ever saw it, but it looks like it fits snugly into your beloved future wasteland genre. And what’s the name of that one with the dude who, instead of having legs, has tracks? Probably some cheapo Italian shit, no doubt.
“Steel Dawn is a 1987 American post-apocalyptic feature film, with elements of western science fiction. An enigmatic swordsman named Nomad, wanders through the remains of a post-World War III world. He travels the desert, in search of his mentor’s killer, the assassin Sho.”
HAHAHAHAHA!!! His name is Nomad and he wanders through the desert. Great stuff.

“Steel Dawn” cracks me up . . . . considering just two years earlier Patrick Swayze was in “RED Dawn”. Talk about laziness. It’s like they knew what letters were still left from the marquees’ earlier screenings and just went with it to simplify things.
