Can’t believe no one has mention this project here. I picked it up at Amoeba today. Very catchy, very heavy, very cool. Our Friend Justin K. Broadrick is involved.
It was kind of A Broadrick day at Amoeba. I picked up Justin K. Broadrick Andy Hawkins:azonic Subsonic 3 and Greymachine. I know I’m probably not going to like Greymachine but it was cheap and I kinda remember somebody posting that the CD was printed in limited pressings so I picked it up for shits and giggles.
Anyway,
check out blood of heroes if you get a chance
…and Greymachine. I know I’m probably not going to like Greymachine…
Why? Because it’s “different”? Because it’s not pop/rock oriented? It doesn’t have a catchy chorus?? There are no “wikkid” guitar solos on it? The chick from The Black Eyed Peas doesn’t guest anywhere?
[crazy]
And yes, Blood Of Heroes has been mentioned here and discussed before.
Nevertheless, it’s an ok project. Never bought it because I didn’t like it enough. But it isn’t particularly awful.
Come to think of it, seeing as you didn’t like the Legacy Of Dissolution remix album, yr probably going to hate Greymachine.
And the world will keep turning, my oldest nemesis…

No…because it sounds absolutely horrible. How someone could honestly sit through it and seriously enjoy it is beyond me. But then again people like Black Metal and Trance and Mumford & Sons so it isn’t that surprising. But yeah I detest Greymachine. It did keep Broadrick’s fans of the more extreme music happy.
And yeah totally agree with Peligro’s view of Blood Of Heroes…Bill Laswell & Broadrick on the same record was a wet dream of mine for years…funny that when it happened I struggled to make it through the whole recording and would most definitely not listen to it again.
If it had come out 15-20yrs back I probably would’ve loved BOH…and I probably would’ve tried to convince myself I loved Greymachine just because Broadrick’s name in the credits. Not today though…too much better and far more enjoyable music out there not to mention your tastes tend to change after 15-20yrs.
I bought the Blood Of Heroes cd, Waking Nightmare a few weeks ago. I found it enjoyable enough but do agree somewhat that there are plenty better examples of this kind of thing out there.
I am a big fan of both Laswell and Broaderick and was expecting big things from the album.
It delivers to a degree but both have done way better.
I have that Greymachine on order from an ebay store. Should be arriving any day now.
Here I thought y’all were actually gonna talk about something awesome for a change. Namely, “The Blood of Heroes”, an awesome post-apocalyptic 80’s flick starring Rutger Hauer and Joan Chen competing in some football/Bloodsport/capture-the-flag/gladiator/hybrid deathmatch game. Yeah it’s been a million years since I’ve seen it, but I can assure you it rules.
I’ll tell y’all what does NOT rule . . . Another thread dry-humping Justin K. Broadrick. BBBBOOOOOOOORRRRRRIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!

I did a search but couldn’t find anything.
I actually didn’t mind Skinner’s black laboratory. I had it on as back ground noise. I would never put it on to bump a jam but as far as noise in the back it was ok.
Late,

fuck yeah this movie owns. in fact, i think you and i actually have already talked about loving this movie…
and yes, i honestly thought that was what this threat would be about as well.
Yeah, Rusty! It must have been me. I remember discussing the film here too so that had to have been us. I need to get this DVD. I just now realized that Vincent D’Onofrio (aka Detective Goren, aka Private Pyle) is in it too.

I thought for a split second it was the Megadeth track they were talking about. That Rutger film, i’ve never heard it being called that before, it’s called Salute of the Jugger in the UK, possibly in Europe too. Weird title.

Yeah, the movie is badass. You should track it down . . . even though the posters for it with the “Salute to the Jugger” title are pretty LAME . . .
I was just watching some clips for it on YouTube. It’s definitely a badass movie. This is pretty much the ONLY genre of film I consistently like . . . post-apocalyptic wasteland movies. I will absolutely watch ANYTHING if it takes place AFTER the nuclear war and features a bunch of people who drive dune buggies and other modified vehicles across desert plains, looking for gas and water and fighting leatherclad badasses at every turn.
No questions asked. If the movie meets these criteria, I’m going to love it.
