Terry-who has never owned a library card-has been asked to rejoin after years adrift in a sea of 10th wave punk bands & various prison sentences (the only kind of “sentence” he has ever had association with)
Not that I don’t doubt the 100% infallibility of the Great Connelly, but could we perhaps get some source or other verification on this late-breaking-news besides the shoutings of a man who hates both these cats?
Ministry is Al, and if he feels like slapping together a team to make another album with or do some gigs with . . . then there is a Ministry to be a part of. He’s sworn he would NOT do this, though, and has said repeatedly in recent interviews that Ministry is done.
Thought this album was the last?
Yeah, it was . . . but so were 20 other albums, so . . . whatever.
[reply]Guess that means he’s putting together a band for a tour he swore he’d never do.
I think he swore he wouldn’t “tour”, but he did hint a few times that he could be open to the idea of doing a couple select shows.
That being said, I don’t think this particular rumor is worth the bandwidth it takes up on the interwebz.
Wait! Was that a swipe at the “book club” thingy??[/reply]
HAHA!!! Perhaps. Though that’s kind of a silly dig as Al hasn’t employed any Book Clubbers for over 10 years.
I thought it was just implying that Terry Bones was a big dumb illiterate oaf, which, based on some of the things I’ve read, is perhaps not too far off.
Wasn’t Terry implicated of rape at some point or another? Not to spread rumor or anything…
I wish Al and crew would do some sort of dubby thing live, like Metal Box In Dub or something. Guitars are boring. It’s tired. What would sell more, another Ministry tour playing From Beer To Eternity material, or another tour playing Work For Love/Twitch-esque material?

Yes, but I don’t recall the specifics either. I think it said something in Al’s book even (if that is admissible as evidence, haha) . . . maybe he took advantage of a passed out 16 year old or something. Hopefully someone with better retention can chime in.
I’d seen it mentioned somewhere else too, though (before the book came out).
Yeah, I get all that. I’m just surprised he’s backpedaling this soon.
I read that “one off show” thing in a couple of places, but I’ve also read statements about new Pailhead, new Lard, a solo album of pop music, a project with Joey Jordison called J vs J. . .

I think Al is one of those dudes that is just temperamental and says, “Screw you guys, I’m goin’ home!” a lot . . . . but then doesn’t know what to do when he gets there. I am not putting much stock into ANYTHING until or unless I actually see/hear something.
Pailhead? Lard? Yes, please. Joey Jordison? Uhhh . . . . Thanx But No Thanx, Dude.

If Pailhead, in name only. I seriously doubt Ian Mackaye would collaborate with Al anymore, especially given the direction of Ian’s music now. The Evens.
Does Jello have time to lay down full tracks for a Lard Album considering how busy his own band is?

I wouldn’t worry about chopping hairs on the logistics, Smurf. It’s all just stoner talk at this point.
I can’t think of anything I’ve liked (in honesty, I don’t know if I’ve even HEARD anything) from Ian MacKaye since Fugazi’s “Steady Diet of Nothing” which was, what? 1991? But I wouldn’t mind hearing him on an Al project.

My wifey has a big crush on him so she keeps up with his career. the last two albums he’s released under the band name “the evens” has been folky alternative… stuff.
