Anyone know any good sites that sport more Ministry tabs than just the standard ones you find for TMIATTT and Psalm 69 and the few oddball hits like Stigmata? I’d like to learn to play some of their stuff on guitar and/or bass (preferably Filth Pig - present). Or maybe we could start up a tab section here for fellow musicians and do like they did on the Tool page where fans upload their tabs and others can rate them until we come up with the best tabs? Just a thought. Anyways… Peace!

You know that is one thing missing from this site. If you bass and guitar players post tabs here, I’ll gladly make a page on the main site for them for future reference…
Don’t mean to sounds too sarcastic here, but just go standard tuning and drop D. The songs are pretty easy to learn by ear, at least to me. Bass-wise, is pretty simple also. I figured out Lay Lady Lay pretty quickly (Drop D, as well). Now, if you’re asking for tabs on the solos, then shit…heh When I play shit like “No W” (alt version with solo), I just go apeshit with the solos because I have absolutely no idea what the fuck they’re doing.

well, yeah… but also some use Eb tuning and two songs (Broken and Cannibal Song) require to uptune bass by half-step.

I’m not lazy. And I actually take offense to that. But that’s besides the point. I’ve been on this board for way too long to get into flame wars over anything.
The thing is that I’m just starting to play guitar. Yes, I’ve played bass for awhile now, but I’ll be the first to tell anyone that while I sound alright I’m by no means great at it. And it’s even worse as far as guitar goes, but I’m learning. And for me, it would be a lot easier with some decent tabs. There are a lot of decent songs on things like LORAH, TMIATT, Animositisomina, DSOTS and Rio that I would like to learn to play, plus a few oddball songs off HOTM and other things like What About Us? and Happy Dust, I’m Falling, Overkill, America and some side project stuff (really interested in things along the Lard, Lead Into Gold, RevCo lines), etc. And yeah, I could just play standard or drop D and just figure shit out but it’s (while this is totally probable that’s all there is) not quite what I envisioned to play a few power chords and be done with it and say “Yeah. I sat down and in 10 minutes learned how to play everything on Psalm/Rio/whatever”. I would like to think there is a lot more to it then that and wanted some help plus I figured it would give us musical peoples something more to talk about rather than bashing Al and the constant bickering wars of “Ministry depresses me now/too political about Bush/no good since [insert album]” etc.
So… If anyone would like to help me with the endeavour I would appreciate it and doubtless think many other people would. And yes, if possible, solos would be a great thing to add in. THIS… IS… the all conclusive site to go to for info on Ministry and I think it would be worthwhile to chase up the one last avenue that hasn’t been presented on this site instead of “Oh… I found this version of I dunno… Cold Life… In Italy and it has a different cover and serial number”. While great information yes, it’s nothing that for the most part isn’t new.
I challenge ANYONE to comb the web and see what they can find besides tabs on TMIATTT, Psalm and Filth Pig with the oddball tabs (which usually aren’t very good) for songs like Stigmata.
Like I said… Maybe WE should do it since we’re the diehard fans that “know so much” rather than take a pisstake at places like Piss Army and each other.

Well, I heard that tabs were being outlawed because there is a market out there for them, although most artists never use it. And besides, it’s the same arguement they are making about outlawing lyrics sites. I don’t think we would have a problem putting them up here. Also Afra, while he hasn’t been in much touch with Al and Co. recently, could surely be able to ask (and most probably) get permission from the band for us to make our own attempts at transcribing the music, and hell, who knows? Maybe Al will throw us a bone or two for some songs. Just a thought. Anyways, I’ll throw the few tabs that I’ve managed to find when combing the 'Net on this thread and do a few myself (even though I know they will be mostly wrong, LOL) and we can bounce stuff back and forth. Maybe we can get a bunch of them done to an acceptable degree.

these should be played in standard E tuning except scarecrow which is in E flat.

I also wouldn’t mind getting some tabs, I haven’t touched my bass for a few years, and some repitive ministry bass tabs would be good to get back into the swing of things.
My playing is more just a time waster, or was, I could never play something by ear, need to see what I’m doing… ie Tabs.

ha thats weird i was just playing through almost all of filth pig on bass, as i noticed i havent played ANY ministry since i got my 5 string in july. its a lot easier, was thinking of tabbing it out. posted a few RevCo and some Ministry basslines when MxTabs.net was still cool. yeh sorry dude, dont play guitar enough to even trust myself writing out tabs for anything on it. i will make bass tabs though for those interested. i did find (and learned to play ) guitar tabs for paisley on the new mxtabs.net if that helps anyone…

Heh, no wonder everyone has a hard-on for Paul, everyone seems to play Bass.
I’m interested in getting all tabs up here if we can. Guitar, bass or drums (or even some of the odder things like harmonica, mandolin or saxophone or keyboard if we have anyone who knows these instruments and wants to take the time to do it).
I actually play gitar (or I’m trying to learn to) and I usually play (how coincidental) 5 string bass, LOL. I’m working on trying to tab out my versions of Animositisomina right now (which isn’t going well, but… you never know unless you try)…
So just do what you guys want and, again, hopefully maybe we can get enough stuff up here to warrant putting up a new section for the site!

i’ve done some ministry bass tabs… some are even for HOTM. i’ll get to organize 'em up and polish in the order of the song’s appearance through ministry timeline
I wouldn’t mind trying to tab some keyboard synth parts, but i’m only really a novice on that. And as for the paul/bass comment; I kinda wish I owned a bass, his style’s pretty cool, but I got stuck with a guitar rather than a bass (which I had originally wanted). Kinda grateful for my parent’s lazy mistake. But i’ll go and tab (or at least attempt to) a few songs. Sort of a trial-version-type deal. If they’re up to par, i’ll do more? Right now though, i’m on “No W” (the banned version, from what I hear):

I’m sure you know the song, so just go with the rythym and such. This is mainly just to give you a general idea of what to play. But that’s pretty much the song right there. Not much to it.
Stigmata:
Standard E tuning. Don’t think it matters about drop E or just leaving it standard. The way I play it (at least), I never use that string. The “/” means to slide.
