SXSW sightings

Paul is at Emo’s seeing his friend Scrote’s band. They played at eight. He texted me that he saw Mike Scaccia onstage with the Skatenigs. He thought it was a Rigor Mortis show. Then he espied Phildo.Skrew are playing after.
The tall one CAN if he’s inclined, go see Yoko Ono on Saturday. He has no such inclination, although it could be fun to see her perform with some of her old band and Sean Lennon. The media circus will be too much to bear for anyone, since it is a smallish club. But Elysium is where she wanted to play, since they’ve been doing Japan night for a while.
Yeah Yoko. Not Loco.

Allesandro cortini at breakfast, who borrowed an amp.

Is Paul cool with Mike? I know Mike’s been working on and off with Al over the years…

totally cool with Mikey.

While most fans are gay for Paul, i’m totally gay for Gerta’s posts/behind the scenes info.

THIS ^

I’m totally straight for Paul Barker swoon

He should’ve jumped on stage with Skatenigs and played Beers Steers & Queers.

Tell him to go hop on stage with Wu-Tang or Fishbone tonight. He can freestyle, right?

I miss Emos

Did NIN break up? waka waka waka!!

Trent’s gonna put together a new album real soon after he scores David Fincher’s new movie and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Gerda,
Did Paul watch Skrew? I know Paul has worked with Adam Grossman recently. Any future collaborations?

Psychic TV was planning to play on Tuesday, how did that turn out?

Trent’s gonna put together a new album real soon after he scores David Fincher’s new movie and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

That announcement turned out to be premature - Trent said he’s not doing the vampire movie.
Apparently his next project is going to be NIN.

Paul hung out with Mikey and saw the Skatenigs and saw Adam and watched Bad Brains. He said Bad Brains was awesome. Sound sucked, and despite the whatever it is, 25-30 minute limit for bands, they rocked. I believe he was checkin’ 'em ouch with Mickey.
PB went to see Boyznoise with our son last night, who is prolific with the turntables and programming action and keyboards. The show for the kid was a bust. The opening acts were apparently dull German DJs without anything to say musically. And Boyznoise repeated the pattern.
Paul hung out with Cotizone, Cortini, Bellini, whatever his name is, and went to some industry panels today. Cool.
Just got the Japan night update from the tall one:
"Awesome all girl 70’s soul act, singing in Japanese.ZUKUNASISTERS.

Forgot to mention, Paul went to the Psychic TV show and thought it was alright. Couldn’t hang with Genesis’ white wig, and couldn’t name anyone else in the band. Ah well. I, unlike the tall one, have never seen them perform live. Kind of a rarity, considering how many rockshows I’ve had the privilege, pleasure and sometimes nausea to deal with.
(special thanks to Jim and Dannie–see. I’m already doing the credits)
btw. I am totally gay for Prongs.

I’m Geisha for Scaccia.

Geisha for scaccia. Good one. Always appreciated his out the side of the mouth laugh. kinda like a mutley or dudley do right moment. can’t remember. but always appreciated. kinda of a hiss. So anyway, back to Japan night if I can tear the tall one away from the party peeps.
Now I’m thinking I should go to the Yoko show. Hm.
btw, I TOO have no beefs with Mikey…well, he is Texan, so we may have to share at some point.
my brain is on writing and SXSW time. . later. man.

Apparently Japan night was fun and cool. Hystoic vein were out there. Suck Piggy ( from Kyoto) death punk band were awesome. zukunasisters according to Paul were so good as a “soul” band they probably do stints on cruise ships.

Paul also saw Sugar Schmacks Schmack Down Brody, as I call him. Max Brody. Good times. For all of you Pink Anvil fans. Maybe somefin’. don’t know.Keep you posted. He hasn’t seen Max in a couple of years. They do keep in touch. Funny how kharma works.
Paul was also solicited by a number of marketing companies for his music and pedals and live performances. He told me on Friday, "I didn’t know so many people want to give me stuff and help me because they “know’ me”. And they’ll do it for “free”. duh.
