I was listening to FBTE yesterday and thinking that Sammy REALLY overdid the stop/start edits on the whole album, so i suppose this is gonna be a full album of that kind of thing. Could be fun, could be shit, but most likely is that it will never happen. I mentioned in another thread the other day that i rarely believe a word Al says, so i’m never disappointed when things don’t happen [:)]
One can only hope this doesn’t happen…
I’m predicting this will go the way of Dubweiser or WELT and just disappear into the aether…
Sammy is a super rad dude and I love the guy, but I probably only like about 1/4 or less of his remixxxes. The ones I like I think are really cool (like the one for the track “Relapse”), but most are not something I can listen to repeatedly . . . or once.
When is he ever going to do his solo album? That was supposed to be a mix between With Sympathy and Matt Johnson’s The The.
I’m kind of worn out on the metal side of Ministry. The synth pop fans have been eating on scraps for years.

He did it. It was really just three songs, but he released 'em.
It’s Always Christmas Time
Voices In My Head
Walkie-Talkie
They’re mediocre.
Surgical Meh Machine
Surgical Meh Machine
good one!

Speaking of which, did you see that Matt Johnson has said he’s working on a new album? Not another soundtrack, but a proper The The album. I’m psyched, but I’d be even more excited if he started opening up the vaults as well. Give us Gun Sluts and whatever was coming after NakedSelf (I’ve heard a couple different titles for that one).

Yeah, I have the CD for this and I agree, it’s just ok. I was really hoping for a full release, and not just a couple tracks tacked on to an already then recycled x-mas tune.
Anything for You was a nice surprise, as was Cleopatra’s complete 12" collection.
It just seems for every early song that he throws to the fans, he also releases several full lengths of the metal stuff (which I do enjoy)
I think even the metal fans would prefer some unreleased earlier stuff to the constant rehashing of live and remix material.

Oh cool! I haven’t listened to them in a while. Now would be a great time to brush up!
Isn’t it obvious? The Dubweiser debut will certainly be the dub remiXXX of the Surgical Meh Machine debut. Duh.
I’m more hopeful of a new LARD album. I mean, maybe, just maybe…

I almost yelled something about LARD at Jello when he was one stage with Napalm Death a couple weeks ago, but I couldn’t find an opportunity…

I saw Jello years ago in Belfast and as soon as he came offstage i accosted him and asked him about Lard, and he said “Uhhhh… well, i just recorded with The Melvins…” and i cut him off and went “Yeah, but what about Lard!!!” He seemed a bit scared [pirate]

I’ve been debating getting the VIP pass for the show in Dallas in May. If I do, and by the off chance Al is there, I’ll ask him and let ya know.
LARD: Back around July or so Jello was in LA and they were all working together and supposedly put some tracks down. When and if it all ever gets pressed . . . . well, time will tell. We’ll probably get the remiXXX album for it before the original tracks ever get released.

Is the lineup for the Lard recording the same as the Ministry lineup?

I imagine he’s understandably nervous when fans accost him at shows.
