Wow that artwork is truly hideous.

I like it. I’ve liked it since I saw it. I didn’t check the deets, is it only available through mail order?
Hyper linked for those that don’t want to cut and paste!

Late,

Now that’s good news.
I’m getting it right away. Hopefully it’ll be better than the same crew’s work on Got Cock.

I don’t think Sin is involved in this.
Is it released by 13th planet?

I think the art is bad too. Ew.
It’s self released and yeah the art is freakin’ terrible. With cover art like that and a song called “Lady in the Lake” they appear to be strangely marketing themselves to the Marillion crowd.
The cover reminds me of Oceanborn by Nightwish.
Haven’t heard any of this but the cover reminds me of a Creed album cover.
“It feels so good to reunite…”
I just listened to that band’s music on their myspace (I have never heard them before) and let me tell you…bad artwork is the least of their problems.
I don’t know who to compare them to because I don’t know the names of any of those bands they sound like (although I can picture some of them in my head).
Sounds like third generation Filter…as if first generation Filter wasn’t horrid enough.
Ha, I listened to some of their songs there on myspace and all I could think of was… FILTER!
So pardon my ignorance but what is the Stayte-Ministry connection(if there is one)? Regardless they sound like a band that I’d go along to see when out on the town or something but I wouldn’t listen to outside of that scenario.

The Stayte guys were in new RevCo.[/reply]
Josh (the singer) also appeared on The Last Sucker and Cover Up. Clayton (the musician) worked on all of the recent remix albums. Paul Barker produced a song or two from their last e.p. So lots of Ministry connections.
If you do more than a cursory listen, you’ll find that while Filter/Gravity Kills/God Lives Underwater is a sort of jumping off point for comparison, Stayte is actually a lot weirder. Like one of those bands crossed with Faith No More, maybe.
The new album, btw, is not as good as Abandon In The Amber, but it’s much better than Got Cock.
Hey haters, Paul Barker played bass for all of one of their EPs. Feeling different yet? [laugh]
Wait. This is out? If so, i’ll get this when I get home. I had pretty so expectations of Stayte, but ended up being surprisingly better than nu-revco. Like, miles away. Never really got a Filter vibe (actually like the first two albums btw), but I guess if you mix filter and FNM (or anything patton altogether), then I guess that could make sense.
They just didn’t mix well with Sin at all. But I guess I should still be using that in the present tense?

LOL! Paul Barker and Josh Bradford should start a band together with a couple of other nice guys and call themselves “Finishing Last”
I don’t really hear a Filter sound either… however for some reason I can understand the Filter FNM cross pollination descriptor. I like Filter, don’t really care for FNM… not that that matters.

Good idea.
Paul should make a guest appearance on a Captain Bigshot track. That’d be pretty sweet.
Actually want to buy this but it seems like itunes is my only bet. Think i’ll wait until it hit amazon or i’m desperate enough. I don’t like their format (acc).

Nope. I don’t actually know if there’s a musician who’s never done anything I didn’t like, but if there is it is definitely not Paul. OK, there are some very new musicians who I like all their stuff but that doesn’t count.

That was horrible.
Are people seriously getting excited over that…?

None of those bands - as hilarious as they are - come even close to describing how bad that Stayte crap was.
I was expecting some half decent, electro industrial indie rock stuff. But that was…what was that?!?!?
