The article mentions that Al Jourgensen and Burton C. Bell may contribute vocals to this.

The downside is the guys from Disturbed,Five finger donkey punch,Devildriver and Dope also contribute vocals…sounds like a train wreck…

This is stupid. I actually liked Static-X and I think this is terrible.

Tony was a total cunt to Wayne the last couple years he was alive. Now he’s going to take the band out on tour and make money off his corpse? Gross.

Ewww numetal

I have no context for this but i’m really curious since people complaining about how Tony isn’t as good as Barker always bring it up and I can’t find any actual info about this anywhere. I don’t disbelieve or anything but what’s the story here?

(and I agree; I’m indifferent to Static-X but this is a decidedly uncool move)

Starts at the 3rd question down.

I never liked that band to begin with, but yeah, this is gross. Fucking corpse-surfers. They can fuck off. And I’m not sure why I’m supposed to care about a Jourgensen guest track for this doodoopile anymore than I did about his vocals on Coal Chamber.

Wisconsin Death Trip was pretty enjoyable. The rest of their discography was basically unnessecary in my view. I guess a Burt/Dez-fronted reunion could be fun, if they focused their set on listenable stuff. As for the ghouldigging, this is far from the worst example of it I’ve seen. Amy Winehouse hologram tour initiated by her father, anyone? [laugh]

YUCK.

I think I got a recent invite popup ad for a DIO HOLOGRAM tour recently too.

I KNOW I got one for Roy Orbison also.

Yeah, the Dio one… I answered I’ll make sure to send a hologram of myself to attend that show…

So, the album is finally out, and includes Al as guest on one of the tracks

Dead Souls… Not that bad of a tune.

You’d think that they would take this opportunity of having all the creative control to make something really cool, but what did they make? A brand new Static-X b-side album. Sounds like spazzy Korn demos. Hooray!

I like how all the guitar “riffs” is just chugging on the lowest string almost without moving on the fret board… makes the riff of NWO sound like prog rock…

I like it. I like that they didn’t try to write a pseudo-Ministry song for him to sing on, like when he guested on that FLA track.

What does the X in Static-X stand for? XTREME!?

Probably. The name sounds more like it would be a shitty generic fabric softener than a shitty generic nu-metal band.

I never got into them but this song isn’t that bad:

The first album is really good. It’s a Ministry knock off for sure, but totally listenable. The second one was pretty good too, but they drop off in quality after that. I didn’t even bother with the last couple. Been on the fence about this release.

Static X, Marilyn Manson, Bring Me the fucking Horizon…really? With all the actual great music there is out there…damn, when is 60 Days In coming back, again?

Not soon enough.
Hell, I’d rather watch Narcolepsyland than hear or see any amount of Static-X.
