SONGS THAT REALLY PISS YOU OFF!!!!

Any Van Morrison. He’s in the same horrible genre as Jimmy Buffet.

I just looked up that New Radicals song.
I realize now that I knew it, but assumed it was some really crummy late period Rolling Stones single.

Disagree…

although I can definitely go the rest of my life without hearing ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ and ’ Moondance’…I love a lot of his other music though…

The 'Happy" song by Pharell makes me anything but…

Oh yes, i hate that wretched piece of shit song. That and Robin Thicke’s Blurred Rapey Lines track are pure garbage.

Forgot about this one:

Billy Idol - Mony Mony

It instantly earns my royal seal of disapproval for rhyming “baby” and “maybe” repeatedly; one of the most unoriginal rhymes outside of “love / above” and “fire / desire.”

What about Geezer Butler rhyming “masses” with “masses” in War Pigs?

[:)][/reply]

Well, see, at least there we have two different word meanings; “masses” as an accumulation of people and “masses” as religious rites…which are also, come to think of it, an accumulation of people so…um…er…

AHEM

what I really mean to say is that it’s still more worthy of a pass than “everybody’s rappin’ like it’s a commercial / acting like life is a big commercial.”

Come on, Beastie Boys. You’re supposed to be the hip-hop-opotamus whose rhymes are bottomless.

Full disclosure: for whatever reason, I LOVE this song. It’s catchy as all hell. Never heard anything else by them.

I was pretty surprised recently to find out that I really like some of Aerosmith’s early catalog because they are a main offender with pretty much all of their hits from the late 80’s and after . . .

Especially –

Love In An Elevator
Dude Looks Like A Lady
Cryin’
Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing

POISON: “Unskinny Bop”.

POISON: “Unskinny Bop”.

Every Rose Has it’s Thorn is even worse…and yes all those Aerosmith songs are awful and none worse than the one for the Armageddon movie…I hate that song so much I am turning red right now…

AC/DC - Thunderstruck

Oh yeah, I’m with you here.

‘We Bulit this City’-Starship

HAHAHAHA!!! There was a free STARSHIP concert outside of the casino I was at on New Years Eve. Grace Slick wasn’t singing. It was some dude. I walked over by the stage and they were doing, “Don’t You Want Somebody To Love” (yes, I do think that’s a Jefferson Airplane song, no need to point it out). I listened for about 30 seconds and then went straight into the casino.

They actually sounded pretty good, but . . . yeah, I don’t stop for Starship. Especially when some dude is singing.

Yeah,Grace Slick jumped off that ship a long time ago…she is some recluse who lives on a ranch now and just paints all day…occasionally she will make an appearance at an art exhibit or something…

The dude was probably Mickey Thomas…the guy who sang with her during that awful 80’s phase of that band…or it could just be some dude off the street…

My wife & I met Grace…she signed the chester cat painting…8yrs ago.

It was indeed Mickey Thomas!
I remember the name only because the clerk at hotel check-in told me more about Starship than I should ever be told EVER. I didn’t remember any of it, but when you said Mickey Thomas I recalled it. I remember kind of laughing and wanting to say, “The Off Road Grand Prix Guy?” but then realized I was thinking of Mickey THOMPSON.

‘We Bulit this City’-Starship

I used to read MAD magazine as a kid, and there would always be one page or two that they’d devote to Weird Al-style parody lyrics to popular songs.

They made “…City” to instead be some song about a barbarian invasion in the age of the Roman Empire, and they changed it to “We Killed This City…With Rocks And Stones”.

So, although I hate the song, it at least makes me chuckle because that’s immediately where my mind goes when hearing it.

You motherfuckers have gotten that damn Starship song stuck in my head!

It’s a cover. Can’t remember the original band but it was the band that had the My Baby Does the Hanky Panky song.[/reply]

I couldn’t have named the band on my own, but I know all the songs. Tommy James and the Shondells.

Look at the monster hits they had!!!
These are still staples on oldies radio.

no doubt spiderwebs… anything by them really pisses me off.
