I’m looking for some good Sci Fi suggestions. I’m going on my second week of summer break and I’m already board as hell. I watched “primer” on netflix, what a let down, and recorded southland tales off of cinemax even bigger let down based on the description of it.
I’m looking for something in the realm of Robocop (original), Matrix(original), elysium, hardware …
Dystopian future, with technology gone crazy. I don’t care if it’s an old movie or a new movie just something Sci-Fi that’s cool/fun to watch.
TIA
Ill give black mirror a looksee never heard of it. At least i dont remember seeing it on the que. Ice pirates is out. I saw that as a kid and remember it being more of a comedy. Ill look up frogtown. I liked roddy piper in “they live”

Check the episodes "the entire history of you,“white bear,” and “be right back.” The very first episode is most controversial, “the national anthem,” but isn’t very sci if.
Chappie, District 9, Dredd, Oblivion and Edge of Tomorrow were all great sci-fi from the last couple of years. Sunshine, Gattaca, Strange Days are all well worth a look, i’m having a hard time remembering many at the moment. The Robocop remake was good too.

Will do. i think I’m gonna start with your suggestions first tonight.

Oh, man I really like strange days. I saw that like 15 years ago. great idea. selling memories and experiences. It’s on it’s way with all this go pro nonsense.
isn’t edge of tomorrow James Bond?

Yeah, such a good film. Edge of Tomorrow is the Tom Cruise sci-fi thriller, it’s fantastic. Some great machinery in it, armoured exo-skeletons with big guns, cool drop-ships, scary alien killing machines and a surprising amount of humour.
I thought Prometheus was pretty good. My buddy didn’t like it. I like my Sci Fi with dark humor if it has to have any humor at all. Mostly I like Sci Fi set in a fucked up version of earth (like the first robocop or hardwire or what little spots we see of the city in AI- basically cyber punk landscapes)that is fueled by the thriller aspect of the story not so much the comedy aspect of it. Which is probably why I didn’t care for southland tales.
I liked Snowpiercer but found Chris Evans’ performance painfully bad. The baby eating monologue is one I make fun of regularly with my buddy who I saw the movie with.
