i think houses, riogrande and cockednloaded suck ass, the cocktail mix shit was ok (at least it had some low end, whoa) but it’s far from anything like… even like big sexy land. so yep, i think rio grande dub is a bad idea. i mean, how many albums does al want to have ridiculous gw bush photoshopped image on the front cover?

i liek the idea of a dub album, but is RGB the best album to do it from? i mean, it’s, like…thrash metal? i’d liek to see Dark side in dub, it has so much low end already. but i know that won’t happen.

Guys really, the “dub” thing is almost certainly a pun. Just a gag title and an excuse to do a cover with GWB in dreads. I’m sure it’ll be industrial/metal remixes. I mean it’s not like they got Jah Wobble or Lee “Scratch” Perry to do the mixes.
Think KMFDM’s “Light” single, where all the mixes were called “dubs” even though they didn’t have a dub sound at all.

This is probably a poor description, but “dub” is a style of remixing. Typically, the vocals are removed, and the music is stripped down to just a few elements (usually bass lines, and probably some percussion). Those elements are given a lot of reverb and drawn out for an extended period of time. Some of the original musical elements will be added back in to flavor it, including snippets of the vocal tracks. In the end, the sound can be really dull, or really badass.
A remix album for RGB would be cool, but I don’t think one done strictly with dub mixes would work too well. It’d be a pretty drastic departure, if nothing else.
Also, the RGB album cover is great, and the Remix cover is awful. Just my opinion.

It IS Rio Grand DUBYA mix if you look under the UB from the DUB you will see the “Y” and the “A”. THe “Y” looks like the normal end “Y” from Ministry and the “A” is an Anarachy “A”
