so this looks like it’s going to be Al’s very last show, according to the tour list, is he actually going to be playing with the band or just be there for a few things here and there?
he will probably do as much as he can, so he’ll strum a few strings - if that’s exciting, it’ll be awesome I guess
no, but I guarantee the setlist (depending on who is performing) will be 70% old, 30% new – these are based on newbies who are uberfans, not on Al who would be contempt on playing what is “easy”
Have a strong feeling that it’ll be 70% new and 30% old… Makes sense, since i’m sure they’d rather play the songs they wrote, rather than
songs an entirely different band wrote years ago.
Old songs are a plus, but if I were the new guys, i’d want to play the stuff I wrote. It’s practically a new band now, so if they do indeed do that, I couldn’t hold it against them. They had a decent album, and they want to support it - good for them. Hopefully they play more oldies than I think they will though.
Beats me. Part of me would like to see the old songs played but when I think of them played by a bunch of guys who really had nothing to do with those songs it doesn’t seem so appealing. But, I thought the last album was decent do I’d take the good with the good and call it a night.
I thought Josh did a good job of singing the old songs at the last Revolting Cocks show and I was extremely skeptical coming in. It isn’t ever going to be as good then the original lineup but he and the rest of the guys were close enough. LordPiko has it right, 70/30 would be nice.

Yeah, they certainly proved me wrong also. It was disappointing to see a new lineup play those songs, but they did a really good job covering that ground.
Josh is a stand up guy and I think, vocaly, (never met connelly except for here kinda, when he drops in with an advertisement or two!) a very nice stand in for Connelly, Can’t say enough good things about Josh!

I assume by playing the old songs, you’d probably owe royalies to Barker, Connelly, Rieflin, etc. etc. etc. So I guess that makes sense. And since Al’s the “leader”, I guess in the end, it’s really his call…or Angie’s…

i’m not sure you’d owe someone royalties unless you were releasing it on a record. for a live performance, you can play any “covers” you want, eh?
J.B. doesn’t have to learn to play (or sing) the old songs and we know Sin and Clayton can play them because they did in 2006. It’s a matter of Aaron Rossi and “the unnamed bass player”.

They named the bass player.
It’s whathisfuck from Spiderbaby. The guy who contributed to the suck factor of Cocked & Loaded.
Fire Engine was actually pretty cool, but I didn’t care for his other stuff so much. And I wasn’t aware the tour had already started. Setlist, please indeed!

I’ve seen his name (Stevie) thrown out there as well as someone else’s name as of quite recently in a few different sources.

IIRC, they only got him to do Fire Engine because Iggy Pop had a death in the family or something.

Man, if Iggy would have done vocals on that, it would’ve been amazing. I know he’s credited for writing it with back back in the early 80s, but I wasn’t aware of the possibility of him singing it in 05.
Fire Engine was one of the FEW songs I actually enjoyed on the Cocked and Loaded album. Very short list. Gibby saved that album from the shitter for me.
