So… he’s gonna play live guitar at the same time his friend is djing?
Weird. The version of Stigmata on the site is a new remix. This may end up being interesting. Or stupid.
Or interestingly stupid.
EDIT: the BSQ on the site is a new mix, too. I guess this is Sin’s version of Luc Van Acker’s RevCo Sound System. I don’t know about seeing it live, but if Al wanted to put these mixes out in high quality versions, I’d buy 'em.
He asked the Dark Wave Disco guys here in Chicago to do it with them but they declined I think - they’re more geared towards dance (great guys though), and I’ve DJed with them on a few occasions. They definitely throw some of the best parties around Chicago.
I just got a friend request from these guys on myspace. Decided to accept and checked it out right now and I’m not sure what to think about it. It’s pretty much what I would have wanted if Al would have done a GOOD remix album of his hits. It’s a bit bland, and bit fun, a bit more like INDUSTRIAL SHOULD BE (especially with the great movements that dance/techno/electro has made in the last 15 years), and most certainly, true to form.
I can hear the originals and they are given proper credit and respect but these sound great and in a completely new way. I actually can’t wait to see what else they decide to “Revamp”.
I hope Al puts out this stuff as an album.
Seems like an easy buck to me since Sin and DJ Whatshisname have already done all the work. He could even make it download-only and save on manufacturing and distributing costs.
Im really liking what Im hearing. I think they have to be long cos they’re geared more for the dance floor. Not a typical “remix”.
Im curious and want to hear more.
You can go ahead and add 02-14-2009 Atlanta, GA to the itenarary. Sin just messaged me and let me know that’s where they are playing “in my area”. So looks like I’ll be headed to ATL on Valentine’s to make my woman angry with me for making her listen to this stuff, LOL.
Peace!
Krowe
Looks like SIN is doing a DJ tour and doing ministry and revco tunes.
According to Jsin @ The Secret Room they had to move the ATL date back a week due to Ministry’s grammy nomination. I guess the guys will be in L.A. that weekend.

That’s my guess too. They seem to have long lead in’s and out’s for DJ mixing.
I frankly am not impressed with the J1F “revamp”. It sounds just like the other two songs, which actually depresses me. I was hoping for a lot more out of this but it’s all pretty much the same song. They’ve done some nice things with the guitar loops and the re-sampling, but other than that it just sounds like a tired, drawn out version that Al spat out 10 years ago. I’m hoping that not all of it sounds like this but we shall see…
