Sin's version of Ministry/Revco tunes (revamp tour)

Im still liking what Im hearing. I understand that these arent just remixes but more of a “DJ Mix”.
This stuff has to be repetetive and such. I would be into seeing this live.

I agree with Krowe, after Just 1 Fix the seams in the project are beginning to show. It’d be nice if they added elements other than just REALLY HEAVY DANcE DRUMS to make these mixes have an identity of their own. I might like the tracks better if they were 4-5 minutes long, at 10 it just gets tiring.

I wouldn’t be too critical. It’s obviously made for use - if this were the '80s or '90s it would be white label 12" stuff and only collectors and DJs would have it.

Upcoming Shows

Jan 30 2009 10:00P Axis Radius (tbc) Scottsdale, Arizona

Live at Douchebag Central

Sin should wear an Affliction shirt that night so he fits in.

I’m actually going to stick up for Sin on this one. He seems to be one of the better talents in the Ministry camp these days. The only interesting songs on TLS were co-written by Sin.

The new Revco actually has some interesting moments and these remixes are credible.

Along with all of this, Sin does more interacting with the Ministry fans than anyone else does.

Got a message from Sin on myspace in regards to me asking him about these songs. Let me see if I can remember little excerpts from our talk.
He said that he’s gonna be switching up the guitar parts every gig. And he told me that he’s working on bringin in some “Mind” and “Land” material to this.
I dont know guys. He seems like a pretty stand up guy whos just trying to do his thing the best he can.
Chatted with him for a while and I actually felt kind of bad for the shit that gets talked about him. I actually asked him if he ever read “Prongs” and he said that he does every now and then. He told me that he hopes that “Prongs” people just give it a fair shake.
There you go guys.

Got nothing against Sin (nor any of the Ministry folks as I don’t actually know any of them) but I still find the tracks a little same-y. There’s definitely worse stuff out there but for me to go and check out the show I’d have to be more interested in the free samples.

Same as each other. Same heavy tone for the beats, similar beat patterns, similar approach to using the source song samples.

I’ve talked to Sin on and off about music and such. They are pretty repetitive, but they’re made to be that way. The same drum beats constantly does get annoying, but hearing Al’s voice without after effects on Just One Fix is fucking awesome. I’m looking forward to the other releases. Take off the distortion on all of them Sin, it’s a cool to listen to as a fan.

Who talks shit about him? Sin has always (“always” as in as long as I have known who he is)been very cool. I like that he is very fan friendly. He does strike me as gay though not gay as in the new hipster meaning of stupid but Gay as in Homo but I don’t think that’s shit talking, I’m no homophobe it doesn’t detract from his character.

I finally listened to the tracks on myspace.
Wow.
This is really boring.

Is this an advertisement tour for some sort of product from m-audio or something like that? That’s what I thought at first but then I didn’t see anything on the myspace page about it. Did I miss it or was I wrong?

Otherwise what is the point of this?

Sin seems like a nice guy, but this seems like a cash grab. Perhaps this is the “jukebox tour” that Al complained about.

Totally pointless.

Haha, I straight up asked him if he was gay and he was crackin up. He said definitely not.
He did follow it up with “I have nothing against people who are”.
Good lighthearted chat with that dud.
We talked about his love for Lard. The band. HAHA

I might like the tracks better if they were 4-5 minutes long, at 10 it just gets tiring.

I don’t think you have to worry about it. They posted the following on their blog…

About the length of the Revamps

Guys & Gals, we’ve been getting some questions about why the revamps are so long. I figured this would be a good place to explain. DJ’s use long lead ins and lead outs to properly mix a track live. There are extended portions of the track that only the DJ hears in his headphones when playing live. The revamps we’re posting are the extended mixes for this purpose.

Hardware recently did a revamp for another project and his extended mix was over 10 minutes in length. The CD edit version of the same track was about 6.5 minutes.

I hope this makes sense and clears up any confusion.

"I just wanted to give you a heads up that Al & Angie will be guest hosting the Denver night on 1/22/09. The night will also be filmed for an upcoming television special. We’d love for you to come out!

They remixed LORAH and Burning Inside too. I’m digging the Rape and Honey remix.

No jerseys? That’s cheap.

I don’t know about this place, but I’ve known clubs to use dress codes like that to keep jocks and fratboys from wandering in off the streets. As long as the doorman could tell you clearly belonged in goth/industrial land, they’d let you in with a ballcap or bluejeans or whatever.

[reply]So they’re playing here on Feb. 7 AND Feb. 14?

According to Jsin @ The Secret Room they had to move the ATL date back a week due to Ministry’s grammy nomination. I guess the guys will be in L.A. that weekend.[/reply]

Looks like the Atlanta date’s been canceled completely.
Maybe I’ll go see Combichrist instead.
