I spoke to Josh several times during the So Cal leg of the tour and he said Al was puting out a live DVD for this Masterbatour… IF this is still going on I would like to request that HELLO THERE is put on the DVD. That was a Kick ass Song, OR at least released in some form…Live B Side you know what ever just so it’s available.

I’'d like to request that a revco/ministry live dvd is put out, full live set from both acts, maybe some behind the scenes, or some footage from the houses tour seeing as none seems to have surfaced… wasnt there a few guests on that tour? plus all videos that were not on tapes of wrath,(whats that… no w, lieslieslies and fire engine? is that it? oh stainless steel… and the pre twitch stuff lol, not likely) that would be one awesome dvd. I’m assuming that dvd plans will be waiting until after the last sucker… but how about the one I proposed, then another one after TLS [laugh]
Bugger it, out-do pearl-jam, setup “ministry-torrentz.com” upload dvd’s of every show… haha… that would kick-a$$… wonder how much a band would make from something like that… probably not enough to justify doing it
I think it’s safe to say that EVERYONE wants In Case… and YGDSOB on DVD as soon as possible. Don’t recall if it was a legal hang-up with Warner on the former, but that should be one of Al’s priorities post-TLS. The fans really want these two DVD releases above most everything else.

I have a request… <grin>
Have Uncle Al and Co. come over to Englandf and play at the '07 Download Festival. I’ll be there!
Peace!
Krowe
how about since it’s the last tour actually playing something that doesnt involve the last 2 (3) albums of pure thrash metal. do something for the old school fans and play… i dunno, the land of rape and honey, breathe, dead guy, scarecrow, flashback, etc…
just an idea. seems to work well for mr. reznor.

I’m With ya, dude. We tried for 3 shows to get Al to play “The Fall” and nothing doin. The guy refused. The only old schooly songs he would play were the old stand-by’s. NWO, So What, Thieves, stigmata, Psalm 69.
Although I really do like So What So I Don’t mind that Stand-by.

Suggesting he model himself after his more succesful former protege is surely a recipe for getting Al to take your suggestion seriously!
the issue of not so many old songs played is probably still in the coyright problems and warner hoarding it up. because of that, they can’t remaster/rerelease anything from twitch onwards, and because of the copyright issue al had limited old song choices to be “remixed” for rantology. who knows, maybe he also has limited choice of selecting songs for live shows too.
I’m pretty sure that copyright laws don’t apply when performing a live concert. Pretty much all of Ministry’s tours over the past 18 years go back to '88 (and '86 in '03), but the balance of old and new is definitely off.
I agree that Flashback and LORAH should reappear in the set list, along with Burning Inside, Where You At Now?, Breathe, and an amped up Wax Trax single (Everyday or All Day) to acknowledge the start of his DIY days. If not older Ministry, maybe bring back a Pailhead song. Hell, get Fugazi on the tour so Ian can join Ministry on-stage. How epic would that be? Not that Fugazi would do such a thing…

maybe they do, somewhat. paul mccartney still has to pay some royalties everytime he plays something live out of beatles catalogue that he doesn’t own (but wrote) complete rights for. or something like that.
or maybe al dumped most of his past works. who knows?
Man, that would suck, paying to play your own songs! Even Paul McCartney’s not exempt. Of course, you have me wondering now…all these ‘tribute’ bands that travel around, playing to decent crowds…there probably has to be some sort of royalty situation there. Maybe there’s a ‘blanket license’ they can acquire, that clears them of playing other artists’ songs live. That might keep a million cover bands from claiming they’re the real thing (which has happened). Anyway, I don’t know…my head is up my ass on this one.

I studied copyright law in college. The venue pays song royalties in live performances. And, while they don’t take a song by song tally they do pay royalties (to ASCAP or BMI, or both).
Al can play whatever he wants.
Hopefully he’ll be a little more retrospective next time, especially if it really is the “last” tour.
What I’d do is play a bunch of new stuff and mix in maybe one song from each older album.
And for an encore I’d bust out an updated “Everyday is Halloween”. You just know the crowd’d go NUTS.
An updated Halloween would definitely be a home run. He can toughen the song up to resemble their current sound, while pleasing 90% of the fans in the crowd. Why not go out with a bang?

for the 20th anniversary of the band, Neurosis played a show in London with 1 song of every album since Souls at zero, and 2 songs from Times of grace and A sun that never sets. it was just awesome to hear and hear those old songs. It could be great seeing Ministry do that for their last tour, including Twitch’s The isle of man
just a dream: see Ministry (with Paul?) performing LORAH (along with Tonight we murder) or TMIATTT at the ATP’s Don’t look back festival
another hing I’d want for christmas is the live series that should have been released by ipecac.

Can you torrent that sucker?
I’m actually really surprised no-one has torrented ICUDFLSU and YGDSOAB… maybe I should do it… hmm, lol… that does involve doing things though, and I am kinda lazy [:P]
I’ll look at the logistics of it, my computers not on often enough though… would probably just annoy everyone who tried to seed. Hmm… goes away to think about it
Actually right now I’m going to go see RHCP, I’ll think about it when I get back [;)]

Yeah I guess I could. I’ll have to check it out to see how to do it. I’ve never set anything up. I’ve always just taken. So I’ll have to see how to seed it or whatever they call it.
it will be up on mininova.org when i do. I’ll let you know.
