Sin posted on PA that he was moving on. I am assuming Al has kicked him to the curb, which is a shame because I thought he was the only Nu Ministry Member worth keeping.
There is also talk of Al and Scaiccia working together again. Has anybody else heard of this?
It was a matter of time. Ministry is done (allegedly), and maybe we’ve also seen the end of REVCO (after next year’s album), unless Al is ‘giving’ that project to Sin. Can’t imagine why Scaccia would be back in the mix, unless he’s going to be involved in Buck Satan or Jourgensen’s pop album alongside Thwaite. I was never really a fan of Sin in Ministry or RevCo, but he can’t hang around Al J. and make a living forever, he probably has more opportunites on his own, than sticking with 13th Planet-related projects. That said, if he was sacked, it wouldn’t be that surprising, either.
But isn’t there supposedly another revco album in the bag though? I could’ve sworn I remember Al saying “Those guys did such an amazing job, blah blah…”, then said they recorded another album. Maybe it’s that cover album that’s been long forgotten? But maybe the nu-revco guys actually did move on to do something else non-13th planet. Not a fan of Sin’s either, but he did do some cool thing with Ministry/Revco, so I wish him the best.
Im with you on this elrey96. In my opinion Sin was the only guy that was bringing anything cool and somewhat old school to the table.
I spoke with Josh and Sin in Austin for the last RevCo show of the tour and they both told me that the new RevCo album was all finished up and would be out sometime in 2010.
All the guys seem to be on the Capt. Bigshot page so I believe its their new project. Doesnt appear to have any ties to 13th Planet.
The guys were probably burned. Big surprise.
After 13th planet shelving that Stayte album, i’d feel burned too. If they all left, what will become of that album? Just release and not support it? Or will Al actually go out and hire another band, again.
wonder when the bashing will start and who will strike first.
Best of luck to Sin I always liked how easy going he was at concerts! I think the state boys may travel that road as well once their album gets released. Josh never seems “happy” for lack of a better word.
Late,

No big surprise - I assume we’ll hear about the departure of Clayton, Josh, and their afro-headed bass player friend soon enough.
I don’t think I’ll be lending much support to whomever Al recruits for Revco next, unless they’re totally mindblowing. I will be supporting Captain Bigshot and any future Stayte endeavors, though.
Wasn’t he on gene simmons solo disc asshole? I remember seeing him on E! or whatever when they did a special of the cd release. or was it gene’s tv show? well whatever
Frankly I’ve never been a big fan of Sin, I’m sure he’s a nice guy and all but his music doesn’t set me on fire. I’d rather have the new solo stuff with Thwait than more stuff with Sin. I will, however, be bummed if I never get to see another show with Josh leading the cocks.
From all accounts Sin seemed to be a great guy and a decent guitar player. I can’t say that I like the material he contributed to, but I can’t blame the guy either, I mean if I was a struggling musician and got the chance to play in some relatively big, well known bands like Ministry or Revco, I would have taken that opportunity.
So yeah, I’ve been critical of the guy in the past, but in the end the blame for the poor quality of GWB era Ministry and Revco lies solely with Al. It’s not Sins fault for jumping on a sinking ship, and I probably wouldn’t have liked anyone that Al brought on board with such awful music being released under names we’d grown to love.
But anyway, Sin, you seem like a decent guy. Best wishes to you and your career.
I’ve talked to Sin online and got to meet him briefly in Seattle during the LubricaTOUR. He’s a really nice guy, and seems to want to talk to the fans afterwards. I always really liked how even though he’s a member he still reaffirmed that he was also a fan, saying stuff like he really wanted to play “Animosity” live. Even at the RevCo show he kept on playing “The Land of Rape and Honey” and “I’m Falling” over and over again. I like his style a lot, but sometimes it didn’t really have that simplistic power chord format that Ministry seems to use a lot, but I can understand, he’s a huge KISS fan and his style definitely shows that. If he’s out of the 13th Planet music stuff, I’m still definitely checking out his future work.
methinks the promises are there, but the $$$ ain’t.
“yeah, yeah, just do this revco shit, then we’ll release the stayte stuff promise, we gotta sell the revco tix and records and we’ll have enough to push stayte, ya dig”
“okay, guys, revco ain’t sellin, but that’s okay, we’ll do another tour, another album, some remixes, and that’ll bring in the bucks for sure, then we can get stayte out there, ya dig?”
“okay… guys… look, it still hasn’t been selling, so…”
Yeah, I think 13th Planet being anything but an Al vanity label just ain’t gonna happen.
As far as Stayte goes, a lot more people know about them now than they would have a few years ago, so their time may not have been totally wasted. At the end of the day, I don’t see them becoming big. As much as I dig Josh as a performer the music’s a little “sub-Orgy” style and rather out-dated. Frankly I’d rather dust off “candyass” than listen to a new Stayte record.
