yeah his vocals are much better than spyderbaby.
I really want to like it but im fairly inbetween on the album so far. Hookerbot 3000 and Cousins have some very catchy bits and sound good in a sort of trash pop rock way. But the rest really hasnt moved me. Its better when it feels more like Josh and flounders when it tries really hard to be revco with the forced raunchiness. I’m really not diggin Red Parrot with that dead in the water KMFDM type chorus of “Revco, lets go”. Blech. I couldnt make it through the wizard of whatever either. Im gonna give it another listen still
i think it wouldve been better if al had done a Malcolm Mclaren thang and assembled an all gay boy band to take over revco and play agressive disco dance music. thats a recipe for success and disaster.
Dude, that’s a brilliant idea. You should suggest that to the new RevCo guys. They’re supposed to hand the name over to someone else in a few years, right?
Or better yet, use the name to start some sort of Chippendales like stripper group - “I think it’s some sort of male strip show, dance show…”

Sorry Skarecrow, I hate to be a negative Nelly but I gotta say this album fucking blows.
I really wanted to like this album, I really did…
Lame, dated electronic beats, weak imitation Connelly vocals, the same Grandpa Jourgensen butt-rock guitars we’ve been hearing since 2004.
FAIL.
Are you sure you want to Recycle? Fuck yes I do. Not even worth the space on the friggin’ disk drive!
I know opinions are like assholes and if any of you out there like this tripe more power to you, different strokes and all, but thats my take.
Well, at least you listened to it, which puts you a notch above some of the bad-mouthers at the start of the thread.
Truth is, I haven’t bothered to seek it out yet. I’m sure I’ll like it though, as I love Stayte and I like Cocked & Loaded (I’ll never criticize people for hating that one though - I realize I’m a distinct minority there!).
Aight, it’s been a day, and I’m still in love with this thing.
I can’t get enough of “Touch Screen,” for some weird reason, and “I’m Not Gay,” which just struck me as extremely goofy initially, is growing on me more and more.
I’ll have to say, Uncle Al is actually right about this one. It’s easily the best he’s done since Houses.
I still can’t fuckin’ tolerate “Keys to the City,” though. Had that and the remix of “HookerBot3000” been on a single instead, and replaced with another original track or two, this album would be fuckin’ awesome.
Heh, I actually went so far as to name the band in my media player “The Revolving Cocks.” Seems to enhance my enjoyment of it.
Is anyone sharing this on Soulseek?
The guy I was downloading it from banned me (I forgot to set it to share, so I guess he thought I was leeching. My bad.).
EDIT: Nevermind. Found a torrent. Will post a full opinion later.
Alright, I wasnt too sure about this album but after listening to the whole thing I think its pretty damn good.
I did NOT like Cocked And Loaded and was skeptical about this one but I must admit I am impressed.
Who knew?!?!
Here’s what’s irritating - it’s SUPER trebley. The cymbals in the chorus of track 1 actually hurt my ears. Also, this is the first RevCo album where ALL the songs are about sex. It gets old pretty quick. At least they’re not about President W, I guess.
Overall, the thing is pretty good but really does sound more like classic TKK than classic RevCo. I think it’s the '70s vibe.
1- aside from the treble, I like this one
2- I definitely prefer this version to the Co-Conspirators rah-rah jockhole version
3- don’t care for this one
4- I dig the T. Rexish chorus, but otherwise it’s forgettable
5- catchy. Sounds like a Stayte song.
6- honestly, I can’t remember this one. I think I liked it at the time I was listening to it, though.
7- my favorite. It’s the first really club-friendly song Al’s done in 15 years or more. Makes me wish I still djed.
8- sounds like a Ministry track from the early '90s, but not executed quite as well - like it’s a Psalm 69 demo or something. Bonus: it may NOT be about sex!
9- great title. Too bad the song sounds like a Cocked and Loaded reject
10- Like “So What” and “Lay Lady Lay” had a bastard child that sang like Josh Bradford with the treble turned all the way up.
11- Not a bad mix, but I prefer the original.
all ministry records became more and more trebly since filth pig, sadly…
Yeah, I know.
TLS sounded like it was reversing the trend, but he more than made up for it with this one.
i also think that insane overcompression of the dynamic range “helps” alot for it being so trebly. i mean, all ministry/revco/whatever albums since animositisomina clip so badly - when you watch the VU Meter (or whatever that thingy is, peak meter?) it’s just constant 0.0db peak for the most of the song’s time.
after some skipping around all i can say is - I MISS THE OLD REVCO BASS!!! i like the vocals. i like what they’re trying to do with the techno thing but it seems like its forced. and the chorus’ are all the same. and most of the time it doesn’t seem natural when they go into the choruses, - they seem forced, too.
Well, there’s no bass player in the band. Maybe Al or Sin is playing real bass on some of the tracks, but most of them sound electronic to me.
They should have gotten the chick from the tour in there to see what she could do.
Aight, it’s been a day, and I’m still in love with this thing.

Touch Screen is an awesome track. Few tracks I could live without, but there’s some good stuff there. “I’m Not Gay” has yet to really “grow” on me. I don’t hate it, but I don’t really care either.
Touch Screen is an awesome track,
agreed…probably the best one on the cd.
“HookerBot3000”: Treble IS a bit much, but it’s catchy as hell. Found myself singing it in the shower last night.
“Keys to the City (Vegas Mix)”: FUCK THIS.
“Red Parrot”: Probably the second-weakest track.
“Robo Banditos”: Easily the most fun that could come out of horrible Spanglish. I dig it.
“Cousins”: Meh. It’s aight.
“Touch Screen”: My GOD. I am so in love with this track. This is probably the only Cocks song I’d actually be willing to have sex to. [cool]
“I’m Not Gay”: I dig it way more than I initially did. What’s got me wondering is how Al and Co. got to know how hard being gay was in Texas…
“Abundant Redundancy”: More than likely the heaviest cut on the album. It’s decent.
“Lewd Ferrigno”: This is fucking BRILLIANT. Stupid, but BRILLIANT.
“Wizard of Sextown”: I’m glad Al decided to slow the tempo down a bit for a change and revisit the Filth Pig/DSOTS sound. Makes me happy and stuff.
“HookerBot3000 (Disco-A-Go-Go Mix)”: Slightly inferior to the original, but it’s fun.
Alright, Ive been listening to this for a few days now and I STILL FUCKING LOVE IT!
Look, as much as Id love for it to be “old” RevCo, those days are gone.
I remember chatting with Josh and Sin in Chicago and they were both very enthusiastic and excited about this disc. If im not mistaken this new disc was written by these 2 guys and I remember reading an interview that said that Sin had played guitars, bass, and keys.
Seemed like down to earth guys. My hat goes off to these new guys and I dont even wear a hat!
After a few more spins i must agree that touch screen is a great track. Its real sleazy sounding in a good way. Almost has a “Frankie goes to Hollywood” feel. Its the more forced moments (red parrot Im looking at you) that pull me out of the mix. I’m starting to dig Josh’s vocals more too.
