Seen any good movies lately?

isn’t the new movie sunshine cleaning some sort of sequal to that movie too?

“repo the genetic opera” starts out cool with a cool premise… it just started so I’ll write more later.

Trailer for ‘Bruno’:

Doesn’t look that good from the trailer. But maybe it’s like Borat: you have to watch the film a few times to see how brilliant it is.

Yeah Repo gets an ‘A’ for effort, some of the songs are pretty good but some not so. The best line in the movie to me is when a lackey offers Bill Moseley some decaf coffee and he sings ’ I’ll shoot you in the fucking face!’ [:)]

Its cool that Ogre got the part considering the director had no idea who Skinny Puppy was before casting the film. It also led to Bill showing up on the last Ohgr album.

Why does Ogre play his character with a thick Italian accent when none of the other members of the character’s family have one?

I rented some movies last night Robocop and I Am Legend. I’ve seen Robocop a trillion times and I still love it, the OCP building is actually Dallas City Hall (the facade’s looks the same), i should drive by there playing PTP to see if anyone gets it.

Because that movie is about shallow appearence and Ogres character wants to appear exotic to those around him.

David Cronenberg’s A History Of Violence

Without going into specific details, I think it’s safe to say I’d rather drink a bucketful of AIDS infected blood than have to sit through that rubbish ever again.

EVER!!

No, make that 3.

Little Miss Sunshine was one of those rare films which made me compelled to actually go out of my way to warn people not to see it.

Generally I couldn’t give a shit what anyone watches - but it was so bad I felt obliged to at least do something!!

You’re talking absolute shite. Little Miss Sunshine was a fantastic film what are you talking about?

Watched Tyson last night which was worth a look. The Changeling was quite good too.

Anyone heard about this new Swedish vampire flick called “Let The Right One In” (I believe it’s called?) It’s been getting great reviews here in the UK and sounds quite cool…unlike Twilight.

Hands down this is the best Vampire flick in a long time. It has all the traditional conventions associated with old vampire films with just enough of a spin on it to make it interesting. Not an action film by any means, or necessarily a horror film for that matter.

Unfortunately this one is already slated for a Hollywood remake [:(]

Yeah read that in the review too! They don’t take long in jumping on shit do they. I’ll be heading along to the cinema to see this when I can.

‘Encounters At The End Of The World’ (Herzog)

Cool documentary about the people (and other species) living in Antarctica. Two very funny scenes involving a co-operation exercise and a very individualistic penguin.

Worth the watch, though some of the score was ill fitting.

Just watched “The Gamers” again and its sequel, “The Gamers: Dorkness Rising” for the first time a couple days ago. Every pen-&-paper RPG geek has lived these two movies.

Star Trek is really good.

Star Trek is really good.

Yep. It’s everything I’d want in a summer movie.

Does Uhura get much screen time? She’s very easy on the eyes.

Hell YES she is.

Uhura does more in this movie than she did in the entire series.

Probably that’s an exaggeration, but it seems that way.

watching the bio channel this weekend they had a bunch of star trek stuff on. and the actress that plays uhura was telling a story about how she was going to leave after the first season of the show. then one day she was at a party and the Martin Luthar King came up to her and told her that he loved her on the show. she mentioned she was leaving and he basically forbade her because her role on the show was more than a part, but an example of a future in which blacks, whites, and also men and women were all considered equals… i don’t know… she told the story better and gave it, uhm what’s that word… emotion, which is something i seem to lack.

Nice, I’m sold. Never really watched Star Trek but it has had some sexy women over the years, inlcuding the original Uhura (damn those legs!).

I’ll go and see it tonight, hopefully not in the company of nerds who have already seen it 10 times and will provide a running commentary on goofs and say the lines of the actors before the actors say it themselves.
