You’re damned right it was. Probably one of my favorite moviegoing experiences.

Heh, I remember when I saw it, at the very beginning when that one chick had that speech tape-thing on, I completely lost my mind when she said “Apply friction with the proper diction.” Couldn’t stop laughing at the greatest innuendo ever for the whole movie.

Best part of the movie: the first “screamer” scene with the old lady. Everyone, including myself, got the shit scared out of 'em, then about five seconds after everything died down, one chick in the back of the theater just goes “Oh, my God.” Sends me and like twenty other people into another fit of laughter that lasts like ten minutes.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to watch a movie in the same theater as me.

this movie called whole. It’s about people who have this dissorder called B.I.I.D. (Body INtgrity Identity disorder). Basically people who are not cripple who want to be cripple, pretend to be cripple, and go so far as to get surgery to have legs amputated and stuff. Weird shit. Thought I heard of everything

“They just fucked with the wrong Mexican” [laugh]

Didn’t know about this until now. Looking forward to it. What a cast! Alba is smokin. This kind of film suits her acting “style”.

Haha, no shit I remember reading he was going to make Machete into an actual movie, didnt know he did it. Wonder if it will be anything like the original trailer.

Below not for anyone with a weak stomach ::

RE: Porkspam’s movie up a few posts… I remember checking out a website many many moons ago, it was a link from x-entertainment.com (great if you want to read a drunk twenty-somethings take on TMNT or star wars toys as a grown man lol), cant remember the site, it was run by a couple of woman if you want to look for it.
One of the articles on said linked site was about self-amputees… lets say it wasn’t the most pleasant of articles. People had cut off their own fingers/hands/sections of feet/entire legs etc… because they thought it look aesthetically better to miss these body parts… one guy had sliced his dick in half, and then kind of let it heal like that so that it was this permanent banana peel looking thing, with a metal tube jammed down the middle so could still piss… oh it’s making me sick thinking about it again…

Wow Machete is a real movie now?

It looks a bit sucky, but I might check out ‘The Lovely Bones’ later on this week - just to get my Peter Jackson fix.

Did anybody else here really like 4 Rooms? It’d fucking rule if everybody got together and did a movie in that style again. But instead like chris nolan, robert rodriguez and peter jackson this time.

I havent seen 4 rooms since I was 15 or something, remember it being pretty good. It would be cool to see something like that again.

I saw The Lovely Bones last week, it is a good movie, not mind-blowingly terrific, but good.

I watched “A.I.” front to back for the first time a few days ago. I always manage to catch the Flesh Fair segment, then give up and switch channels, but this is actually a good movie.

Best part: the first close-up of one of the alien-looking robots’ hands at the very end. I was irrationally freaked out, jumped up, and shouted “Fuck this movie.”

[laugh]

Also, Machete is gonna be an actual movie now? NICE. Total Danny Trejo fanboy. Dude’s the Mexican Terminator.

A.I. is a fun movie. I like that part right after Ministry, where the carnival owner gets a bunch of crap thrown at his face. Major lulz everytime.

thought A.I. was way to long and way to theme heavy. I like the movie pretty much until they are arrested. then it slows waaaaay down. and the whole Oedipus complex at the end of the flick was just disgustingly pitiful.

Yeah I think Rodriguez (sic?) made it with Trejo in mind because he didn’t have any full length movies of his own in the style of a Segal/Van Damn etc. type of affair.

I’m looking forward to it, shame it wasnt done 10 years ago, but hey if they can make Harrison Ford look like Indiana Jones again they should be able to do ok with Trejo.

‘The Road’.

Good but sadly not great. Can’t fault the mise en scene and Mortensen but the boy was a bit weak when he had speaking parts. There are several strong scenes however, esp. when they run into one of the cannibals and the following scene. The music works superbly and is effectively another character/narrator. Also the end is pretty upbeat despite what people are saying about the film being utterly depressing. Worth the see nonetheless.

Not as impressive as ‘Avatar 3D’ though, went to see it again and it truly is awesome.

Oh and ‘Sherlock Holmes’ is a complete mess.

I thought A.I was a great film…have watched it quite a few times over the years too.

I was just bullshitting around the comic book news sites and spider man 4 is going to be a reboot. Tobey and Sam Raimi both left the project so it’s now going to be about peter and how he deals with his powers while coping with… LIFE IN HIGH SCHOOL… ugh.

Its been awhile since I have seen A.I., and overall I think it is a quality film. You can see though which parts were Kubrick, and which parts were Spielberg for sure. The robot Teddy bear should have gotten an Oscar for best supporting actor that year [:)]

WTF… why did Raimi and TM leave? Dont care about TM so much , lots of superhero movies change actors. Meh… this sounds like that Iron man cartoon that came out last year… I only watched a few mins but teenage Avengers running around wasn’t looking good.

Just watched Funny People for the first time tonight. I thought it was great. Nice little emotional rollercoaster with lots of dirty humor laced in. Worth watching.
