Picked up devils rain on vinyl too but probably overpaid on that one
whatever you paid… you did overpay.[/reply]
bitter much?
It’s not thaaaaat bad. It’s certainly the weakest effort of the incarnations of the Misfits but it’s not bad

There are a couple of sellers selling the box on Amazon for about 8 bucks but the seller ratings are horrendous and the Item conditions are “good” at best.
they had greymachine disconnected import for 13 bucks but I passed on that cause I’m not too familiar with that music and I wasn’t going to throw down 13 bucks on a “maybe.”

haha, i donno, life long misfits fan, and this album… well… i tried, hard, to like parts of it. all i ended up with was thinking that Vivid Red was surprising, and Ghost of Frankenstein would have killed with a real singer behind it.
but there are so many other bands in the genre that watered down fake misfits music is just… boring now. check out Mister Monster.

If you played Devil’s Rain for me and didn’t tell me it was supposed to be The Misfits I’d probably dig it a lot. As it is, with the Misfits name attached it just sounds wrong somehow.

You know I really don’t mind it. Musically it’s still Newfits which is ok but the vocals aren’t that bad I still hear misfits, or rather what the misfits have become, in it. It would probably be better if graves were singing on it but I think it’s solid.

They’re certainly not going out of their way to be super warm and friendly, but I’ve never had any problem with any of the employees being rude. They answer my questions when I have them. They run a decent and fair operation. But they are a pretty insular bunch and I get the feeling that working in that record store is pretty much their entire social life. But that doesn’t phase me as I’m not looking to go on a picnic with them. All I need them to do is tell me where the Twisted Sister CD’s are, ring up my purchase, and stamp my parking ticket.
Wish I could move back… Maybe one of these days I’ll try and visit relatives some of my relatives in SF. I wasn’t old enough to enjoy the sunset strip when I lived there, so that’s certainly on my list of things to do in life.
