Scored at Amoeba today!

Found an import of Jesu Silver for 10 bucks!!
Also got Goon Moon’s egg laying machine for 4 bucks

They were having a side walk box set sale and so I picked up Zeppelin’s box Set and Tori Amos’ piano box for 16 bucks a piece!! very stoked.

Picked up devils rain on vinyl too but probably overpaid on that one by a few bucks but whatev! I love Amoeba

I agree with all this but I cannot endorse Tori Amos. Sorry.

Bought it for my wife. I only really like Under The Pink and Boys For Pele, and the Crucify Single anything else by her, meh.

bitter much?
It’s not thaaaaat bad. It’s certainly the weakest effort of the incarnations of the Misfits but it’s not bad

Zeppelin box for $16? That definitely is a score.

Yeah the things practically brand new.

There are a couple of sellers selling the box on Amazon for about 8 bucks but the seller ratings are horrendous and the Item conditions are “good” at best.
they had greymachine disconnected import for 13 bucks but I passed on that cause I’m not too familiar with that music and I wasn’t going to throw down 13 bucks on a “maybe.”

haha, i donno, life long misfits fan, and this album… well… i tried, hard, to like parts of it. all i ended up with was thinking that Vivid Red was surprising, and Ghost of Frankenstein would have killed with a real singer behind it.

but there are so many other bands in the genre that watered down fake misfits music is just… boring now. check out Mister Monster.

Amoeba is Hollywood is insane. I dragged my wife their while on honeymoon recently in Cali and dragged her ass back a week later.

I’m disappointed we didn’t meet up. [:(]

I used to live two blocks from it, it was a challenge to the old bank account.

If you played Devil’s Rain for me and didn’t tell me it was supposed to be The Misfits I’d probably dig it a lot. As it is, with the Misfits name attached it just sounds wrong somehow.

You know I really don’t mind it. Musically it’s still Newfits which is ok but the vocals aren’t that bad I still hear misfits, or rather what the misfits have become, in it. It would probably be better if graves were singing on it but I think it’s solid.

Dude it would’ve been cool but the time we were there was just non stop.

I went to Amoeba back in 2003, with my then girlfriend, and the staff there were quite rude.

Aquarius Records in San Francisco were way cooler.

And better stuff too.

They’re certainly not going out of their way to be super warm and friendly, but I’ve never had any problem with any of the employees being rude. They answer my questions when I have them. They run a decent and fair operation. But they are a pretty insular bunch and I get the feeling that working in that record store is pretty much their entire social life. But that doesn’t phase me as I’m not looking to go on a picnic with them. All I need them to do is tell me where the Twisted Sister CD’s are, ring up my purchase, and stamp my parking ticket.

I want to move out to cali

Wish I could move back… Maybe one of these days I’ll try and visit relatives some of my relatives in SF. I wasn’t old enough to enjoy the sunset strip when I lived there, so that’s certainly on my list of things to do in life.

I need to get out to Oakland and see my sister some time.
