Not a Rush fan either. But the seats are pretty awesome. I heard they played lots of new stuff? At least that’s what the said on the radio here the day after. Not sure if that’s a good thing or not…

The moment I read those three words posted by Gunnar some time back, was the moment I realized he was not such a bad guy after all and that I should return to posting on this forum and embrace him and his skewed, beer-can-crushing-on-the-forehead philosophies on life, love and the pursuit of the arcane.
Personally, I’d rather attend a marathon back to back screening of the entire Twilight series with an auditorium full of Twilight obsessed tweens than have to sit through a Rush concert. Or a Rush album for that matter.
But hey, what’s good for some…

Nice quandary . . . it’s like asking me if I’d rather put an M80 up my butt and then give myself a Lemonade enema or if I’d rather put my balls on a table and drop a 300lb anvil on top of them.
If by threat of violent torturous death I had to attend the live concert of one of these bands I would choose RUSH by a massive margin. At least there are a few songs that I recognize from radio play and sometimes find myself unwittingly enjoying. Also, at least their songs are distinguishable from track to track.
I don’t know which band has the worse fan base. Again, if I were forced to make a choice, I’ll hang out with Rush fans instead of Tool fans. I feel like they would be more likely to be able to talk about other (better) classic rock/metal bands so we could at least talk about AC/DC or Deep Purple or Iron Maiden or something. Also, at least Rush fans are used to being the butt of jokes and crapped on. They already kind of know their place in society and have accepted it. Tool fans, however, are deep in denial. And Tool fans are too likely to like other horrible wankish progmetal faggitry like Meshuggah, or Strapping Young Lad or something.
