I’m really enjoying this track. I’m hoping the rest of the remixes are as interesting as this one, and don’t just involve a few tweaks here and there, like on Rantology.
this comment about “enough Bush bashing” confuses me at times. i find it quite a simplistic interpretation of Houses and RGB. i know that the “sound bite” the press takes on Al’s work is “Bush Wacker” “Bush Basher,” blah blah blah - it’s the typical press spin, but seriously, to me, these two works are about so much more than that.
Its really ironic to hear you blame the media for spin/ poor journalism. I think Mark Prindle’s review of RGB was pretty spot on without any of “typical press spin” your talking about. I’m gonna have to jump on the “stop singing about bush” bandwagon, but i think the quality of the lyrics is what bothers me most. I mean I’ve heard better takes on bush an politics from bands like Slayer and Brighteyes, pathetic. I mean if your compare Palestina and Jihad it makes Slayer sound fucking brilliant, thats pretty hard to do. You can sing about politics without sounding like a tard. Its stuff like “I make a profit off people oppressed/ I take the money ‘til there’s nothing left/ And all I gotta say is Yippie Aye Yay” and “I want to line up the congressmen/ And strap /them to their missiles/ Then I’ll point them at their temples” that really just ruins it for me. And what ever happened to ministry being experimental. I remember back in the day when Ministry released Filth Pig at the pinnacle of their carreer and completely through off all the Pslam 69 fans. It was one of the most unmarketable records released on a major label and I always respected the band for having the musical integrity to release it. Anyways I’m done ranting now. I’m gonna go listen to some Jesu.

Not through planning or cooperation with those who did it, but you could make a case that through abdication of responsibility they were somewhat culpable. You have to remember that at the time the Bush administration was more concerned with missile defense programs than with Al Qaeda. For the most part though, you’re correct.

Ahem…Could it possibly be that journalists, like many of us board members are tired of the one dimensional riffs and childish, poorly executed politically biased lyrics? Could it be that Ministry albums these days have become ‘TYPICAL’ Mrs Jay?? There is nothing - absolutely nothing artistically challenging or sonically interesting about the last couple of albums. They are boring and derivative of a style that seemed outdated at least ten years ago.
As somone else pointed out, you can be ‘politically and socially conscious’ and have great concern for the world we live in AND make interesting art. That is what pisses me off so much about the last two albums.

I whole-heartedly agree. And there are a few other members on this board that aree the same way.
mrsjay was invited here and is an actual member of the Ministry camp and we should treat her with a modicum of respect. At least she deems us worth the time to come here and talk to, unlike several other hunderds of bands do NOT do with their fans. And plus, she tries to be as non biased and listen to our opinions and pass them on. That in itself is worth it’s weight in DIAMONDS. Not GOLD. MUCH more. There isn’t a whole lot of bands that give enough of a shit about their fans to correspond with them and even less who actually listen to what their fans are saying and try to do something constructive that meets with their artistic vision AND pleases the fans.
So say what you want Peligro, but I side with mrsjay here. You’re way out of line. If you want to be an asshole, I again take my stance against you and wish you’d pack your shit up and go on to a board where you are happy rather than sitting here and needlesly flaming people and being a general jerk off.

While the band’s output over the last few years may not appeal to you, please be respectful to the people in the band and those associated with it. With the treatment they’ve gotten on this board, it’s no wonder that the many (at least 6 or 7 that I know of) past members of the band who used to post here have pretty much disappeared. You’d be surprised who’s willing to jump in when there’s genuine interesting discussion going on and just as surprised how many people drop out when that discussion turns to slagging.
