^HAHAHAHAH!!! You just dated yourself (as I will by knowing what you’re talking about)!
I remember those boards.
Our university had an internet room with all these old school one-color non-graphics terminals and you’d log on to some system called “PINE” and there were all these chat boards . . . . alt.punk, alt.metal, alt.rec.arts.industrial . . .

Good fun!
Ah, I love me some memories of Internet antiquity. Hey, remember PRODIGY, the online service powered to your home by mighty speeds of 2400bps? I do…
This was also back in the days when it was actually radical for the cyberpunk label Fifth Column to be releasing a CD that also contained the software for logging on to some bulletin board thingy called the “Cyberden” (don’t look for it now, you’ll get tons of unrelated results.)
And don’t forget those Skinny Puppy “welcome to the process” t-shirts which baffled mainstream lamer clone people everywhere by (gasp!) featuring an actual URL as part of the t-shirt artwork!!!
I wasted hours all the time just clowning on all those boards. My favorite were the endless “Is _____ Punk?” topics on the alt.punk board. Is Green Day punk? Is Nirvana punk? Is socialism punk? People would drone on for days about how “punk is an attitude, not a music style”, "punk is a way of life, punk is . . . ". Then 5 minutes later a new thread would pop up . . . “Is My Turkey Sandwich Punk?”

Hahaha oh yes, that was the burning question of 1994, wasn’t it? I think Congress may have even held a vote on whether they could be considered punk or not.
I personally knew people who, after reading one such bulletin board posting to the effect of “it’s not punk unless you puke” started a habit of vomiting on the windows of suburban family restaurants to maintain their ‘punk’ credentials.
And BTW your turkey sandwich is in fact punk if the mold appears on the bread in a tartan ‘bondage trousers’ pattern.
^In the movie “Doom Generation”, one of the main characters rocks a Ministry shirt throughout the film.
Love that movie! Still the hottest Rose McGowan ever looked, as well the most fucked up ending to a movie I’ve ever seen. I used to think the leader of the Nazi gang was Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age. There was also a quick mention of TKK just before the dog got ran over.
…Been 20 years since I’ve seen it and I don’t remember much of it at all.
Me too and all I remember is some dude jerking off to rose fucking her boyfriend in the bath tub and then licking his cum off his fingers. That and rose had nice tits.
I think I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but I remember reading that the actor was actually genuinely into that stuff as a teenager, which is why he’s wearing a Neurosis t-shirt he probably brought from home and his buddy has a generic “anarchy” shirt because the wardrobe dept. thought it looked suitably “goth”.
In other news, I now have a total crush on '80s Gillian Anderson.
