Reunited Original Lineup Of BLACK SABBATH Working On New Album

Nice to see someone giving Sabotage some love. But I don’t see Born Again, Seventh Star or Forbidden in there. Never listened to those albums. They must suck really bad.

Born Again is literally the pattern for Spinal Tap. It’s not so bad if you think of it as a comedy record…

I am proud to say I LOVE Born Again in an un-ironic way…

If those albums did not wear the Black Sabbath name, then literally nobody would have ever bought them.

Born Again is particularly hideous. Even my cousin who worships EVERYTHING heavy metal - from Cinderella and L.A Guns to Morbid Angel and Dimmu Borgir - hates it.

And why on earth did they pick BRAD WILK from RATM of all people.

Crap drummer from a crap band.

Born Again fucking rules…great record…don’t believe the haters…

^This!

olson is high. TYR is not only one of the worst sabbath records, it’s one of the worst “hard rock” records of all time

I tried but I can’t get into these…and I’m a huge Sabbath fan:

TYR
Headless Cross
Cross Purposes
Forbidden

“Tyr” and “Seventh Star” are AIDS.
“Forbidden” is hated by most, even though it’s a pretty cool album.

And “Born Again” is awesome and anyone that tells you different is gay.

Yeah Seventh Star sucks teh ballz…Glenn Hughes was all cracked out yet somehow still bloated…I remember they did that video for the dreadul “No Stranger to Love” and they literally dragged some guy off the street to mime the bass parts…they still don’t know the guy’s name to this day…

I agree with Revco…I just couldn’t deal with the Tony Martin era…Tyr is a wretched piece of ear rape and Headless Cross isn’t much better…Eternal Idol was ca-ca also…Forbidden isn’t as bad as it’s rep but I still can’t get into it…I do like Body Count, though!!!

10 years ago I bought the Born Again demo’s from some guy in Japan…the songs have a different track order and there are some extended parts and some minor touches that very from the original…but the best part was the song “The Fallen” which was previously unreleased…that track just burns so hard…they added it on the recent double disc remaster…Born Again is one of the finest moments in metal history, despite the atrocious engineering job…somehow it adds to the satanic mayhem of that glorious hell ride…

I actually really like Martin as a singer. I thought he was really versatile in that he could do justice to Dio AND Ozzy’s material (they totally wreck each others’ stuff respectively).

Seventh Star will give you AIDS. Wanna know what else will give you AIDS? I once accidentally bought an album by GILLAN AND GLOVER (I really like Gillan a lot) called “Accidentally on Purpose” . . . . it is one of the most attrocious and embarrassing pieces of aural faggitry I’ve ever heard.

Yeah,I don’t mind Martin as a singer I just wasn’t very fond of the material from that era…

I’ve obviously heard Dio sing Ozzy Sab but don’t recall Ozzy ever doing Dio Sab…did I miss something?

Oh man,I’ve heard that Gillan/Glover atrocity…that is one limp dicked piece of work…so awful…alot of that Deep purple side project stuff is sketchy…Gillan made some good solo records but alot of it is bad…I think the last DP album I bothered checking out was the House of Blue Light…have only heard snippets of the Steve Morse era…

Pretty cool video…

Album is out June 11. Snippets from the new album here are scarce, but you can just make out some decent new riffs here and there.

I’m sceptical but hoping they can pull it off…

Somebody needs to buy Rick Rubin a damn brush.

What is up with every damn metal band making an album called “13”? Just friggin’ STOP IT!!!

Somebody needs to buy Rick Rubin a damn brush.

Holy crap! Every time I see him he is just more unkempt and hideous looking. I was about to say something about how Iommi shouldn’t wear ballcaps because it makes him look like Pete Townsend or some other bloated ass, but then I realized that he might be covering up some chemo side effects or something.

Anyway, I’m hopeful for this project, but we’ll just have to see. I do think Rubin is a great producer despite his stupid dirty hippie persona.

Wilk as drummer . . . . ehh, I never gave a crap about RATM, so I don’t have any pre-conceived ideas about the guy. But from the quick clips I saw/heard it just seems accomplished but generic. It just doesn’t have the creativity or SOUL that Ward’s drumming has. I don’t think that Bill is one of the best drummers in the world, but he had a really cool improvised jazzy style that just seemed to chaotically go all over the place but worked so well with the Sabbath formula and was integral to its magic overall.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s kind of gross to see Rick Rubin humping his pillows on his bunk bed while listening to Sabbath? It’s just . . . ugggh. I find people in their pajamas or sweats to be vulgar in general, and I can just imagine that those bedsheets can be smelled from down the street. Damn dirty hippies.

Been getting way into Black Sabbath more and more lately even read Iommi’s book and I will say I’m now stoked about this but keeping expectations low.

The fact that Ward is not on the recording is an ENORMOUS letdown. He is an integral part of the sound. The kind of sloppy, sort of floating, jazzy sense of time and the way he plays is a huge part of the group dynamic.

The guy from Rage is a way better drummer in terms of precision and that’s exactly what they don’t need. Bill is a big part of the magic…

Also it was funny to see Rubin humping the pillow…

The new Suicidal Tendencies album is called 13 also…

I will check out the new Sab but I agree not having Ward on it is a huge letdown…
