1002

I recently pulled out Skinny Puppy “Too Dark Park” and have found it and Phil Western’s “The Escapist” to be the perfect soundtracks to my autumn.

I saw Puppy on Oct. 30 back in 1990 off the “TDP” tour. Best show of my life. That album will always be linked to this time of year for me.

Milwaukee? Supposedly Jeffrey Dahmer was in the audience at that show, that night. Seriously.

And I think I have a boot of it.

I also heard he had Clock DVA on the stereo when they arrested him.

Those old John Carpenter soundtracks from the late 70’s/early 80’s are all brilliant. Anything by Zombi will do the trick at this time of year too. Other than that I’m currently rotating

Tim Hecker - Haunt Me, Haunt Me, Do It Again
Daivd Lynch + Others - Inland Empire Soudntrack
Final 3
John Carpenter - Halloween III Soundtrack
Today is the Day - Willpower
Download - Fixer
Sonic Youth - Bad Moon Rising
Manorexia - The Radiolarian Ooze
Oxbow - The Narcotic Story

I just got the record of your Mom moaning & groaning for cock. This is the greatest autumn record I have ever heard. Please thank her for me and let her know she must definitely CUM out with another record for this Winter…ooh la la!

Nope, Minneapolis was the one I saw. Milwaukee was on the 31 (SP on Halloween on the TDP tour, God I can’t imagine it getting better…). I still need to find the boot of Milwaukee because it was just the next day.

I hadn’t realized that the WI show was the Dahmer one, I had heard stories about him picking one of his victims up at a Skinny Puppy show though.

@jizzwad
Lycia is definitely a great choice for autumn. Great band

Godspeed You! Black Emperor
A Silver Mt. Zion
Talking Heads
(some) They Might Be Giants
Joy Division
Front 242
Alec Empire/Atari Teenage Riot
Failure
Year of the Rabbit

Autolux

This is usually what I always listen to though.

Slightly off-topic, I remember ages ago I found a x3 cd set of skinny puppy rarities, demos live stuff wierd stuff… some of it was Download, some was a… radio appearance I think, just noisy, but cool stuff was played… I got it off the Ministry hub that was running on DC++ like 5 years ago, maybe longer, if anyone has any idea what I’m talking about let me know! On another note, that hub was awesome… wish it was still going (if it is, someone PM me, I haven’t used DC++ for ages)

Stuff I’m listening too at the moment. It’s actually Spring here [cool]… is not quite so out there, pretty mainstream listening at the moment, I’m not in the mood for anything mind-bending at the moment.
Tool - 10,000 days,
Manson - Mechanical Animals
NIN - mixture of the Fragile and WT tracks
Primus - Frizzle Fry
Sage Francis - human the death dance/the album before that one… cant remember the name right now
Queens of the stone age - b-sides

Isis - Oceanic (Remixes)
Jesu - Silver
Agalloch - The Mantle
Bill Laswell - Silent Recoil
Ulver - Shadows Of The Sun

I tend to listen to Legendary Pink Dots as Autumn’s weather grows colder. Pretty much the entire discography.

I’l listen to Skinny Puppy around Halloween time but unfortunantly it seems to be the only time I listen to them these days.

I then tend to listen to lots of droney ambient material (which I really listen to all year round, but it intensifies this season) Stuff like Lull, Dead Voices on Air, Final, Oophoi, Maeror Tri.

As winter approaches, then I’ll move onto Jesu, maybe the first few Cure albums. And old school hip hop. 89-93/94. Kangol’s puffy jackets and timberland boots yo.

The weather’s still nice here in NJ, so I’ve been listening to Faith No More, The Melvins…stuff like that. Just bought a Young Gods album off amazon. I still like to get stuff from the Ipecac label. They’re putting out the 30 days of Night soundtrack the day before Halloween.

i’m spinning

the cult - born into this

@slacklove
what do u think about the cult record? i heard it twice and really didnt like it much (well, im a fan of their really early stuff mostly but they always had a few decent tracks on every album). think i should give it another chance?

Did you get the new Young Gods? If so, let me know how it is - I’m really curious.

RevCo - BSQ

Thanks for that one! I’d forgotten how “Can’t Sit Still” “Something Wonderful” and “Razor’s Edge” are a perfect Autumn trio - going to have to burn my copy to my computer just to get those in rotation again.

I was thinking about it, but went with Second Nature instead. It’s going to be my first one. Have you heard it? Any thoughts?
