haven’t been to that board since it first opened. honestly didn’t even know if it was still around.
they can think what they want, I personally don’t care. the whole thing seems a bit childish to me. but then again, that’s what al’s music seems to be these days, a bit juvenille, so maybe that’s why they like it? not trying to be funny or sarcastic, just making an honest point.
Yeah, i’ve seen it. But is it just me or when the thread was actually becoming civilized and people expressing opinions and such, it was the perfect time for "Mrs. Jay v.2) to post her “yawn…NEXT thread?”. Because it honestly seemed by that point that things were chilling out and becoming civilized. Someone just asked “without getting gushy, what do you like about these three albums”. Couldn’t get an answer, but I think her post was absolutely unnecessary.
I do lurk the PA on occasion, but never post. I posted once, and got no answer to my question. Came here and it was answered very quickly and presise.
And…the old industrial “bastards” they have there. Other than “Maxmal”, who is there? That forum gets on my nerves, but interesting at the same time. But it is a glorified fan-site. New manson album, for example. I frequent another forum, which absolutely hate the album. Go to the manson-forum and they’re eating it up. So I guess it’s common…meh.
But it just seems like most of the people there are 16, ready to argue with anything foreign ideas and anything else their ringleader joko ono (mrs. jay v.2) dismisses.
Bets anyone on how much longer that thread exists?
where is the official manson forum? I want to find a good manson forum, to see if anyone taped the show I recently went to? Surprisingly can’t find much good manson forums about.
Im a mod on the Piss Army, Catgoat is as well. There is an entire set of people on the PA who are over 30 and have been fans since the 80s. Real industrial fans like Catgoat and I. Why does being a huge industrial fan matter so much? Why isnt it enough to share the love of Ministry? Most of Ministrys albums have got at least a little metal to them.
Anyhow sometimes things can get childish over there, but its also a lot of fun, and a lot of friendship. Piss meets have allowed Catgoat and I to travel all over the world with free lodging- other pissants too. He and I have made some of our best friends on the Piss Army boards.
If you dont like it just dont go over there. If you havent been there check it out.

Sounds very cool. It’s always nice to meet new friends…and who like ministry.
Honestly. I think a benefit concert for Al’s dental work is a much worthier cause than stirring up the whole PA-Hates-Prongs bullsh*t. Don’t you?
I am soooooooooo fightin the wood to go over there and smash a few grilles.
P*ssies.
gah i cringed (cranged?) when i saw it.
but this thread is just as cool.[/reply]
Indeed.
Following on from what Mysfyt said , many good friendships have been forged on PA the last Chicago meet was brilliant. I have no doubt that the majority of us would get on in person. Opinions differ but there is usually a common ground found with all of us.
Speaking of which, Afra…Next time we meet you owe me a pack of cigs…
What it all comes down to (I think). A group of people dislike Al’s current work and direction. People bashed and complained, not to be trolls, but to just be fans who just aren’t impressed by what Ministry’s become. All of which are still fans though. I don’t think anyone at PA is a bad person. But like it was mentioned already, it can be a bit childish over there at times, which I why I prefer coming here. If you like Al’s bush trilogy, cool for you, you’re enjoying it. But what gets on my nerves, doesn’t make me furious or anything, but it’s a little annoying how everything’s perfect that comes from that man. I might’ve overlooked, but i’ve seen not one negative review or even remark. I truly believe some of it’s denial. You can like an album all you want, but if there’s always something there…a flaw. New Radiohead, for example. Definately a few songs there that I don’t like, but it’s still a decent album. Nothing’s always perfect, which seems to be the case there. But it’s cool that friendships and such have come out of that.
If any of that makes any sense. Incoherent rant, perhaps?

I think I’ll take this time to beat jizzwad to the punch: flaw? I don’t see any flaw with Jesu.
(which I would have totally agreed with, btw).
Talking of which, anyone on here going to the Jesu show in Chicago at the Empty Bottle? I’ll be there…
And yeah, I do think the people I met in Chicago who assembled to meet from the PA were cool - mostly old school fans. And people such as Catgoat and Mysfyt (who also came to Jesu) did take time out to drive here to Chicago to see Barker DJ and to hang out. They’ve openly said stuff they didn’t like about artists here and the other forum.
And I feel strong about the prongs community here. You guys have good positive output regarding the site and everything else, and the niche here is awesome. I don’t think anyone can say people on this site hate Ministry - this site is the most detailed you’ll find on the band and it’s all due to open contributions.
Think you missed what I meant or tried to say. Every album i’ve heard has something to gripe about. Whether it’s a guitar part someone could live without, or whatever. Not all bands though, which I had never meant in a literialy sense. I’ve only heard on Jesu song, so I can’t say much, but from what I heard, it was good. Yet to hear more and get more of an accurate idea of Jesu’s sound. The post-rock bands I listen to even have their faults with repetition, although very great and exciting music, Godspeed You Black Emperor being a huge example. I’m a real huge fan of theirs, but it can get very repetitive at times.
No, I understood and agree with what you meant. Was just throwing some light humor in there. And yes, a lot of these post-rock/stoner rock bands have gotten unoriginal and repetitive at times, I agree - as with most genres. At least there was that fresh breathe of air for a while there…
Aaaahhhh…I can be a tool sometimes, so forgive me, heh. I really need to check more into Jesu though. I heard “Silver” and enjoyed it. I’m hearing mixed reviews about the latest album though. Conquerer? Never even heard Godflesh.
[reply]um…I don’t get it. this forum is no longer a ministry forum, and therefore, there shouldn’t be a comparion between the two.
You would think so, right?
My only question: If Jizzy really despises the PA so much, why does he feel compelled to read it on a daily basis?[/reply]

I’d definitely say you’ve overlooked.
Not quite sure how you could miss the negative stuff posted there but it’s there.
I myself posted what I liked and didn’t like about TLS in a thread I knew Al would be reading. I think most opinions on PA are genuine. Some probably aren’t but it’s the same on any board. A few posts I’ve read here on Prongs seem like they’re posted just for peer recognition to receive some kind of slap on the back.
It’s the same thing really, it’s everywhere.
But I do think some people are being truely honest when they say TLS is the best Ministry they’ve heard.
Just because I don’t think the same doesn’t mean they’re in denial.
um…I don’t get it. this forum is no longer a ministry forum, and therefore, there shouldn’t be a comparion between the two.
Correct. This forum isn’t dedicated to Ministry so the two forums need no comparison. It’s here also to post stuff related to the site such as Song of the Week but we seldom do that. I think the general lack of interest on this forum regarding Ministry is apparent (for example, there are rarely posts on what Ministry is upto nowadays on here). It’s best left as the prongs forum. Not dedicated to anything.
Anyhow, we seem to have more in common with Avalanchers than PA (smaller community, similar musical discussions, look of the forum, no spam etc.) They seem to like us and us them and many from there lurk here. They also discuss Ministry and were let down with TLS:
I point this out merely to show the similarities between us and them. The threads look identical. Many would say they are slamming but I don’t think so at all.
I haven’t even heard TLS so I’ve stayed out of those discussions. In defense of this board, from what I read, most were constructive criticisms.
Now if you excuse me, I got Jesu’s “Pale Sketches” in the mail. Must listen. Been dying to.
I used to cause so much trouble on the PA. Couldn’t stand them. Still can’t. I wish I could remember what my forum name there was. It wasn’t Fennesz or Lorax (the names I used on the old prongs board). It’s on the tip of my tongue. But yeah, them days were great!! Not to boast or brag or anything…I just thought it was funny. Call me shallow. Call me immature…whatever!
These days I almost feel a certain amount of pride in the knowledge that Mrs Jay cannot stand me. I hope one day we actually meet. Although I doubt very much whether that will happen.
