I’m finishing up a 2-CD ‘best-of’, and have run into some indecision on CD 1. For most of the compilation, I’m averaging 3 songs per album. For LORAH, I have picked Stigmata and Deity, and can’t decide on the third song. It’s down to these three:
The Missing
The Land of Rape and Honey
You Know What You Are
I like them equally. Of the three, which one would you pick?
How about using the live versions of The Missing and Deity from ICYDFLSU? They blend really well together on that record and IMO pack more of a punch in the live version…
Jupitreas, that’s a good suggestion, and I considered going that route with the live versions, but decided to stick with studio material. There’s definitely a tandem with The Missing and Deity…that was part of the indecision. I think I’m gonna go with You Know What You Are. The sound is so good on that song (love the programming), and I like the idea of including one non-guitar LORAH track.
Thanks for the input, everyone. If anyone gives a shit, I’ll post the track listings (then you can all yell at me over what songs are missing, esp. on disc 2). Gonna design some CD art and be a big geek about it. I think it’s a solid best-of comp that covers every phase of Ministry.

lol, nice noble task but i tried to do that and i couldn’t.
but; i did make three versions of twitch album. one is the original (the LP version which ends on twitch part II; second is singles from 84-87 + some tracks from twitched; third contained mostly remixes on 84-87 era tracks. each one was 42-47 minutes so it turned out perfect.
I like those two songs, just not as much as the others. Flashback is fun, but it’s funnier than it is good. Golden Dawn is a great instrumental, just not suited for my personal best-of.
Noted… I’ve tried to make a best-of CD(s)… Ended up being a lot of the 83-86 stuff with a bunch of DSOTS thrown in… along with all the tracks vocalized by Paul.
I also would go with YKWYA, so good choice. However, I’m disappointed in the rest of you.
Just last week, I made a mix tape (yes, a TAPE - ninety fucking minutes) tracking Ministry from 1980 (the year I was born) to 2007 (final track was from Rio Grande Dub). Being the perfectionist that I am, I freaking AGONIZED over what to put where…it had to be chronological, but what mood was I going for? Anyway, it worked - my friend Stephani is now an official convert, and on top of that, I still get to show her all the stuff that wasn’t on the tape. I’m dead excited to be sharing this material again, it’s just fantastic.
So, yeah, it CAN be done. Just have fun with it.
(Oh, and her favorite material was from Twitch. Can I pick 'em, or what?)
So here is the track listing. It’s nothing shocking, believe me. 80-minute CDs, FYI.

My love for DSOTS and RGB is obvious
I’m obviously the singles-minded Ministry fan. I realize how big a fan I am when there is so much good stuff left off. I could easily just make an mp3 CD with unlimited time, but what fun is that? Believe me, I’d love to have the Twitch Trifecta on this compilation, but my focus was to spread the wealth across the albums (tried with DSOTS and RGB, but I just couldn’t do it!).
Ok, tear me apart like a rag doll. Actually, pretend WB or some other label was releasing this 2-CD set…what’s your reaction? (Pretend there’s some really cool cover art, which I’ve yet to design).
