This.
one of my few friends in highschool was an alice freak. he dressed in yellows a lot and sported the most impossible platforms known to mankind at the time. eddy douglas. his dad was a us diplomat ( i went to a magnet school which for years did not allow girls. i was in the first class.)
ed and i remained friends throughout his emergency room trips from the school whilst he contemplated the hallucinogens and thought he was a duck, and all of the art students chided me for hanging around such a homo. i defended ed to the death.“he’s not gay”.
ten years later, i walk into the whitney in new york, and there’s ed. he wants me to meet his boyfriend.
i could have killed him on the spot.
was he special?
you betcha. HA!
Where have you been Gerda? you’ve been off the board for like a week now.
in the other thread you said paul would take over Vox duties when Al was too fucked up.
you think he could answer some lyric questions for us. specifically this…
…Keep me all yours, braindead and useless
These fucking ??? form aimless hands
Reaching for my throat, to coddle, and throttle, remove all hope
I honestly think it’s “these fucking LIPS form NAMELESS hands reaching for my throat …”
and maybe some dark side lyrics from nursing home and step???
Late,
grmpysmrf
Vex and Siolence…great song
Don’t worry, Dudes. I’m sure that’ll all be in the book too.
Vex and Siolence…great song
THIS
are you kidding? led zeppelin were my favorite band along with alice cooper, al green and the list goes on when i was in highschool. however, i have a very touching story about meeting robert plant at wax trax which somewhat cemented my ideas about celebrity. (in…my…book…)
I remember when a friend of mine told me about the time he met Jimmy Page at a recording studio in London in the late 90s. My friend was wearing a Filth Pig t-shirt. Jimmy ignores everyone else in the room and comes over to my friend - who promptly almost faints.
Jimmy : Great t-shirt mate! I really liked that Filth Pig album. Reminded me of Killing Joke playing at slow speed or something. I had the chance to see Ministry on their last tour but something came up…as it always does.
My Friend: Jimmy page is talking to me! mumble mumble gurgle stutter gargle choke.
^
I recall you telling me that same story some time ago.
I had a hard time imagining Jimmy Page listening to Filth Pig. Then I found out he was actually a big fan of industrial music in the early 80’s. - especially Throbbing Gristle. I know that Hipgnosis (Peter Christopherson’s design collective) did some work for Led Zep…so the two most likely met at some point.
Page was also good friends with Killing Joke and used to jam with them. He was also supposedly spotted at a NIN concert circa The Downward Spiral.
Or so I’m told.
Sometimes the things rock stars are into are surprising.
Paul McCartney did two albums with Youth from Killing Joke. Who would have thought?
i’ve been working a lot, while my entire (3) family is back in chicago, delivering my daughter back to college.will pass the lyrics inquiries on to the tall one. that should not be a problem. i think. pablo’s a fairly generous, level headed guy. to most. willing to share info…and don’t you knuckleheads get crazy with that statement.
Well, I did try to get Paul to do a Prongs interview on here. Nerdy questions and stuff, nothing rude. But I never got a call. :>
Ho ho ho!

Didn’t he also work with Bobby Beausoleil, one of the members of Charlie’s family?
paul will always do something prongs/afra related. no question about that. try again.
Um, yeah. That a good idea. JLW, hit me up by email and I can help get a question list together.
And Gerda, what songs of Paul’s has he performed live? There’s footage of Hatred from the 87 tour, but as far as I know, that’s the only time he’s ever taken the mic as frontman. Anything else?
