welp, it’s on. going to conduct an interview, might even be phone instead of email (a preference imo, leaves more room to talk).
was curious what you’d like to know from Max…
for those who are not too familiar, Max Brody was the drummer for Ministry on their Dark Side/Animosity tours, and did programming/drumming work on Animositisomina and Houses Of the Mole.
He is also one half of Paul’s side project PINK ANVIL, whose next release “New Year’s Eve Party” is due sometime in the future.
figured this thread might be a cool change of pace from the Rio Grande threads and what have you.
since he was on animositisomina and 2003 tour i’d also love to know (well MAYBE he knows about it)
was the tour filmed, maybe a live release was planned?
what happened to animosity/unsung video?
several other people (connelly, washam, rieflin) talked ‘bad’ or preferred to to say ‘shit’ about people (well i mean AL of course) and some said you know, he’s control freak/etc yadda yadda, how was Al (and the rest of the guys) to work with from Max’s point of view?
Who’s idea was it to perform Twitch material on the 2003 tour? I know Paul was still around, so was it his idea - perhaps he knew he was leaving, so it was his last hurrah to go out as he came in? If not, that means Al wanted to perform it. And that means there’s hope yet!
Other than that, I don’t really have anything. Yeah, maybe why is it so hard to get along with Al in a subordinate capacity? Previously, I would’ve said the drugs (been there, believe me), but it seems that this has gone on even since he’s been clean, so who knows?
There’s always the lame “What’s your favorite era of material to play?” - or the standard “What are you up to now?”
Maybe you’ll come up with some other stuff.
I’d be interested to know about his music work before and since Mnistry. Also I’m always interested to hear stories of touring the world with Ministry. Any excesses he’d care to share?
When will Pink Anvil ‘New Years Eve Party’ be released? Why has it been delayed?
Was the performance and recording of ‘Halloween Party’ and ‘New Years Eve Party’ completely live or was some of it run on backing tapes? Was programming added at all in post-production? Who was operating the drum machine? Were the songs mostly mapped out or more spontaneous?
Was the melody on the track “Unmerry” from ‘Halloween Party’ a sample or was it played on synth?
What is Paul Barker doing now?
Are there plans for a third Pink Anvil release or more shows?
Let me say that I think the treatment of the drums on Animositisomina and The Dark Side of the Spoon is ingenious. Whose idea was this?
Whose idea was it to revamp “We Believe” for the 2003 tour?
Ask him is he has any plans to revive Sangre De Toro (his band previous to Ministry). He gave me a copy of their CD back on the Spoon tour, and I haven’t seen or heard anything of them since.

Uggh what a terrible band name…[/reply]
I like that name. It means “blood of the bull” if you aint a Spanish-speaking kind of person. Pink Anviiiiiiillll and Paul Barkeeerrrrrrr, where are yooouuuuu???
YeAh definitely ask him the questions I stated earlier.
Also maybe more information on concept of New Years Eve Party. I mean does it sonically resemble New Years Eve in the way `Halloween Party is full of campy Halloween-ish noises and musical ideas?
Also what is the future for Ipecac? Are they still having trouble staying afloat financially?
Thanks for your hard work, it is a real benefit to us hardcore fans to have someone like you in our corner doing interviews like this one that would never be done by a “legit” magazine. Means a lot!
