Weekend update: Afra has given his blessing for the comp, so the page will be somewhere on prongs.org with the actual finished product hosted on archive.org so we don’t eat up a lot of bandwidth. I plan on it being available in multiple formats FLAC, mp3 ect… with the artwork being a downloadable PDF so you can print your own CDs at home.
If you want to contribute a track pm me with the details because the shut off date for inclusion is now April 30th.
After that we will have a couple of months for contributors to work on their tracks, then the packaging/web stuff to come together. I am shooting for around a mid July-August release if not possibly sooner. I have received 6 tracks so far and they are all pretty cool.

Also, will try to get some stories on Dugald on the Melbourne scene for you; it’s just been a while since I’ve seen my two pals who were involved in that, and probably will be sometime soon. Any deadlines?

Fixed it evil, sorry about that I must have read your myspace wrong.
As for the book, its an ongoing thing with lots of ground to cover so no hurry on anything you dig up. I have a lot of interviews to do with musicians so pending on those I have no real deadline for it. Thanks again.
I think we are pretty close to being full for planned 2-discs.

As I’ve stated before after the 30th we’ll have a couple of months for everyone to finish up their tracks.

Okay guys keep working on those tracks. This looks to be the final lineup for The Darkside Of The Poon, 24 bands that will be separated onto 2 discs. So far I have received 9 tracks, and they are all great. This will be a very diverse compilation. As far as artwork goes nothing is set in stone yet, so anyone who wants to contribute something on that front feel free to.

Well I am planning for a late July early August release, but we’ll see how things progress. That gives everyone a couple of months to do a track if they don’t already have one.
In light of the news of Porkspam’s passing I think that the official title of the prongs.org compilation should be ’ The Darkside of the Poon’. It was Porkspam who inadvertantly named it that when voidhead picked up on a misspelling in one of his posts.
Any thoughts? I know the title is a bit low brow as Icepick said previously, but it is in keeping with those tongue-in-cheek Ministry titles. At least it is more clever than Got Cock?
I agree that it should be called ‘The Darkside of the Poon’. Is it actually happening though?
The Nursing Home track for it is long done. I have been avoiding posting it online because of the comp, among other things.
The track from my other band could be done too. Is there a deadline? It seems to have progressed farther then last time, then ground to a halt again…
Yes it is still on… so far I have received 9 of the twenty something tracks. I was hoping to have it online by late June/ early July, but it all depends on when all the contributions are in. So it looks like a couple of months for that realistically. If someone needs an extension past that then pm me with the details.
I’ll talk with Icepick about painting some cover art, and the layout and stuff is most likely going to be done by Simon who does all the work for Subconscious Communications.
the Light Asylum is working out some finishing touches. we changed singer midstream, but we’ve come out stronger for it. we have some samples up on our myspace. should have it done in 2 or 3 weeks. schedules!
