Primitive Race

Is that the Kniker dude?

His ā€œbandā€ is the real joke.

His ā€œbandā€ is the real joke.

Itā€™s the worst joke ever.

3 years of circle jerking and theyā€™ve put out . . . . a 5 second clip of noise, and a couple bag puppets (allegedly).

And attached the PIG name to garner more interestā€¦

Finally there is a song released! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbQGhJDhfUM

Itā€™s ok, and Iā€™ll be listening to it again. On first impression doesnā€™t feel as catchy as the songs on the Compound Eye EP, it just kind of drags around like a PIG song written by committee, which is basically what it is. It doesnā€™t stand out from the previous PIG discography as much as it probably should, for being our introduction to a ā€œnewā€ band.

The trackā€™s not too shabby. Iā€™d give it 7/10.

Doubt they could release a full fledged album with 3 good tracksā€¦ gimme just 3 good tracks and Iā€™ll forget about all the trolling.

Yeah, thatā€™s about what Iā€™d rate it too. A good PIG song, but not an all-time standout. It reminds me of some previous PIG song, but not one that I can remember the name of off the top of my head.

Congratulations, Primitive Race.

You seem to have at least got a passing grade in ā€œShitty Cliche Early 90ā€™s Collage Industrial Music Video 101ā€.

And when I say you got a passing grade, I mean it.
It is definitely shitty and cliche and could be used for any shitty so-called industrial band.

The music also sucks, of course.

Do you know how many orders of nachos you could have bought with the money wasted on this project?

Iā€™m thinking at least 6. Thatā€™s 6 orders of nachos that you all could have enjoyed eating instead of having a tickle fight in Chris Knikerā€™s basement and fighting over who gets to play the Super Nintendo on the next lame ass remixxx.

Just . . . . stop. Please.

Yeah,that didnā€™t do anything for meā€¦

It certainly tells us nothing about what Primitive Race will sound like without Raymondā€™s involvement.

They were supposed to give a remix away if youā€™re on their mailing list too, but the link in the email just jumps back to the signup page for the list (or Iā€™m doing something wrong).

Yeah, I got that email too. I canā€™t even be bothered.

It certainly tells us nothing about what Primitive Race will sound like without Raymondā€™s involvement.

Very true. Itā€™s a good PIG song, but I imagine Compound Eye will be better since Iā€™ve already heard demos from it a couple years ago. Iā€™m just happy to hear new PIG again after 10 years since the last record!

I like itā€¦has a new PIG sound that heā€™s released over the last few years. Although I prefer his older stuff/sound, Iā€™ll take it!

Just got drunk with Raymond and mark. Both great guys.

Yeah, thatā€™s about what Iā€™d rate it too. A good PIG song, but not an all-time standout. It reminds me of some previous PIG song, but not one that I can remember the name of off the top of my head.

It reminds me of something off KMFDMā€™s WWIII album but missing SW/AS/JH.

Full length album to be released on August 7. Preorders: http://www.metropolis-mailorder.com/product.php?prodnum=MET+989

ā€œRising forth from the primordial sonic stew of intensive collaboration, industrial supergroup PRIMITIVE RACE stands ready to take their place as the pure evolution of Industrial Music ā€“ past, present and future. Evoking the intensity, fury and excitement of Industrial First Wave, PRIMITIVE RACE brings together an all-star cast of contributors ā€“ each of whom is a ā€˜missing linkā€™ in the canon of industrial and EBM in their own. Conceived by bassist, impresario and Lords Of Acid manager/executive producer Chris Kniker; PRIMITIVE RACE featuring regular appearances from Graham Crabb (Pop Will Eat Itself), Erie Loch (LUXT, Blownload, Exageist), Mark Gemini Thwaite (Peter Murphy, Tricky, Gary Numan). That core is joined by an all-star cast of contributors including Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry, Danzig), Dave ā€œRaveā€ Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Jackalope), Kourtney Klein (Combichrist, Nitzer Ebb), Mark ā€œ3KSKā€ Brooks (Warlock Pinchers, Foreskin 500, Night Club), Josh Bradford (RevCo, Stayte, Simple Shelter), Andi Sex Gang (Sex Gang Children) and more! PRIMITIVE RACE have seen the future of Industrial Music, and decided it looks much like the thundering, soul-searing past. Viva La Evolucion!ā€

Itā€™s been confirmed that Raymond Watts isnā€™t on this. Actually, it looks like none of my oldschool industrial favourites are. Fancy that!

Itā€™s been confirmed that Raymond Watts isnā€™t on this. Actually, it looks like none of my oldschool industrial favourites are. Fancy that!

Well, that sucks!

So the Raymond Watts song they released isnā€™t on the actual album? What happened to Luc Van Acker being on it?

As fas as Iā€™m concerned, Kniker only attached the PIG name for his own personal gain. Iā€™m one of the few out there that actually kept a tab on Primitive Race, and I lost count at how many times Iā€™ve resurrected this thread, so itā€™s obvious people will forget about a band after not following through right away with all that hype. Yeah, attaching the PIG name couldā€™ve been a call made by Raymond Watts, or even Metropolis, but this ā€œsupergroupā€ has been a farce to be reckoned with for quite some time now (yes I did mean to type ā€œfarceā€) and there arenā€™t any names on there I care about that much that actually did stick around.
