Not a lot of news yet, but possibly of some interest: http://beintheloopchicago.com/news-martin-atkins-pigface-announcement/
Wow…Martin looks like an industrial Colonel Sanders in the top image there. Always with dignity. I half expect him to say “my new Extra Crispy is every bit as tasty as the Original Recipe, ya see.”
As for a Pigface reboot, I’ll be cautiously optimistic that it will be the genuinely interesting Pigface and not the Hot Topic version. I await more news other than the list of people who were approached but didn’t want to come.
I’m a little surprised he didn’t try to do this for Cold Waves or something.
“an industrial Colonel Sanders”…I just spit my fucking drink out, dude…
Is that the guy from Evil Mothers standing behind him in that pic?

Haha you’re most welcome…
That reminds me that when I was still hanging with all the Invisible people, there was a goth-y guy by the name of ‘Bones’ from some local band that played with Pigface at the Chicago shows. KFC was also running an ad at the time where a cartoon rendering of the Colonel is advertising his new boneless chicken, singing [url https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b_yyPc2RWA]“no bones, no bones, no bones at all!” to the tune of that “leg bone’s connected to the thigh bone” song.
So anytime I saw the guy in the Smart Bar or wherever, I couldn’t stop laughing while thinking of Colonel Sanders singing and dancing his boneless chicken jam.

That does look a lot like Chris / ‘Curse’. I haven’t seen the fellow in ages, though, is hard to say for sure whether that’s him without the more distinctly “metal” hairstyle I identify him with.
Even money odds that Atkins is already boxing up and readying for dispatch limited edition numbered pieces of actual set used on tour before the tour even begins.
Wanted to like Pigface 6, but…
Give us some good shit Martin or just get Damage Manual back together.
Pigface 6 was dog shit…
Pigface 6 was dog shit…
I thought the second half had some pretty good stuff on in.
Maybe I didn’t give it enough of a chance but it didn’t grab me…
I used to really adore Pigface. From “Gub” up until maybe 1997/98. All of a sudden they just got boring and I never went back to try 'em out for a second chance. I really love “Welcome To Mexico, Asshole”, “Fook”, and, “Notes From Thee Underground” but don’t see any reason to try and jump back on board. I always kind of felt if they were worth a shit in the last 18 years then people would share some videos/ songs. But no, the only time I ever see anyone share Pigface stuff it’s always from the classic golden era.
New High In Low was really good. Well, at least the disk with actual songs was. Many jokes were made at that time about the only way for Pigface to have an album that was good across the board was to include a second disk of crap. Try Kiss King, Burundi, and Methylated.
Easy listening was pretty bad. 6 had some good moments. Electric Knives Club is a decent Connelly track. Also remember digging Mercenary and The Good Bad And Druggly.
Call me nuts but the last two Pigface LPs, half of the content I liked from each…
A New High In Low, but especially Below the Belt, I felt were the nail in the coffin for consistency from those fellows.
new high and low was my last try with them. the early stuff was cool.
And Atkins really raided the vaults to throw outtakes on iTunes. Most of that is disposable, but there are some nice extended versions of some tracks. I made myself a nice “unedited” version of Fook with several of the alternate cuts and some of the outtakes I already had. Clocks in well over an hour and I definitely dig it.
I did the same thing with Rx. Made an album of alternate versions that I like better than the release.
I loved everything from Fook to Easy Listening.
I didn’t feel that the collaborators on 6 fit in like those who came before them. The whole thing took on this edgy, yet dated NuMetal vibe. The En Esch song was sort of the highlight for me, but it lacked a beat that could keep me engaged. KMFPF (Kill Motherfucking Pigface) was hilarious for about 2 or 3 spins, but grew old fast. [:/]
If you liked anything with the female on Fook or Notes From Thee Underground, that’s Lesley Rankin. Check out her solo album, Ruby - Salt Peter.

I did. And I did.
I totally fell in love with her voice after hearing “Divebomber”, especially. So, yeah, shortly thereafter when “Salt Peter” came out I was waiting at the record store. She’s fantastic. She also had a previous gig with a band called SILVERFISH, but that one didn’t do it for me like the others.
I actually liked A New High In Low(both discs)…but after that things got very sketchy for me regarding Pigface…I used to have a blast at their shows back in the day though…good fun…
That Ruby album is solid…
