The notion of race is a crock of shit. It well and truly is.
Don’t get me wrong; the cultural and environmental determinisms which have influenced the way we appear, think and behave are undeniable. But we are not inexorably bound to them. Because, the key word there is culture. For too long, ‘culture’ has been considered utterly deterministic. This is not true. Within a time as short as a few generations, many of these cultural effects can be undone. Those which have had biological ramifications (eg; skin colour, etc.) take a little while longer. But, within an evolutionary scheme, not all that long.
Consider the anthropologist Willian Calvin. In ‘A Brain For All Seasons’, he articulates how rapid and dramatic climate change, ‘catastrophic gradualism’ as he puts it, prompted massive migrations, reductions in population and newfound adaptive techniques.
The reality is, when the population gets massive, certain traits get ‘blanketed over’; ‘races’ mix, and eventually… we all start to look pretty similar. No shit.
So much for ‘racial determinism’.
Thus, diversity is diluted. However, with massive changes in climate, the population is reduced. These traits become prominent once again. But they never stay the same; this is essentially how our appearance evolved.
Consider one portion of the entire population. The majority of their people die, and they are forced to migrate and/or adapt to an increasingly harsh surrounds. Some of these adaptive techniques leave a biological imprint, and are suited to certain environments; consider the complexion of people around the equator in comparison to Inuits up near the Arctic Circle.
Yet, in being migratory, and there’s plenty of evidence for this… we were mixing ‘races’ hundreds of thousands of years ago.
Hence, BlueVelv is as much a ‘Koori’ as I am an ‘Italian’ as Jupitreas is ‘Polish’ as Afra is ‘Iranian’, etc etc.

we have always, and always will, classify our fellow man with regard to appearances and upon a cultural basis. Can this be changed? Probably never.

I never said such policies were to be approved of. Never. And I never will. I see no justice in inflicting one cultures views upon another, especially against their will.
However, you know as well as I do that after 200-300 years of cohabitation, there would have been a gradual, a very gradual, diluting of certain genetic traits.
You could argue the same thing about the Anglo-Saxons; consider the increasing amount of ‘Eurasians’ along the south-eastern coast.
