The venues are kind of fancy of Charlotte and Austin. I don’t know about the other places but that is kind of odd.
i saw Primus at the Austin one a couple years ago. was a seated theater-like room. if anyone goes to that one buy your tickets asap or you’ll get stuck with meh sound in the back corner like i did.
Damn, Cripple! You ain’t kiddin’! What did that Theatre at ACE used to be called? I was just looking at photos. It is friggin’ crazy! I kind of want to go to this stupid Barker-Tool show with y’all just to see the theatre, hahaha!!!
I’m actually a big Tool fan, even if the last 2 albums sounded the same. But, for the life of me, I can’t get into Puscifer. I’m not even sure how to say the name out loud. Good for Barker I suppose. it didn’t occur to me till just now, but Puscifer is kind of a RevCo rip-off.
Oh yeah, the Majestic Theatre in Dallas is fancy pants. Saw Nick Cave there a year or two ago. When was that? I only recall yelling out “Warren Ellis and the Bad Seeds!” and everyone was all up tight about it. You just can’t be an asshole like you used to…but, yeah, the venue. It’s seated. Everyone fuckin sat for Nick. I dunno, maybe they pull the seats out of the joint for Pacifier.
Honestly, though, I always thought it was pronounced “Poo-si-ferr” (rhymes with “Lucifer”).
I don’t know a single song they did, other than that silly “Country Boner” song that was played in the “Fix” movie. I know I tried looking into them on YouTube about 6-7 years back, but nothing spoke to me.
It’s also the song Paul did a remix of. The 1st album was very electronic and tribal sounding. Then they did a bunch of goofy singles. (The aforementioned “Country Boner”) The 2nd album is much more acoustic and mellow, like A Perfect Circle. The shows are quite strange, because they do it like a little stage play, there are characters coming and going.
I know there’s a lot of Maynard hate around here, and I do get it. But he does some weird stuff, and at least it’s interesting. To me, anyway. It reminds me of the early 90’s, when bands like the Butthole Surfers were just generally weird, and the shows were made for people on drugs.
I might drop cash on a front row balcony/mezzanine seat if there’s any available in a couple weeks, but I don’t know if I’m gonna wanna drop that kind of cash. Shows at the Fox Theater tend to be overpriced.
