Saw this. Interesting.

Paul did one of the better remixes on one of the many Puscifer remix albums that have come out.

Pretty sure I’ll be at one of those LA shows.

Yeah, the LA venue is pretty fancy too.

The venues are kind of fancy of Charlotte and Austin. I don’t know about the other places but that is kind of odd.

i saw Primus at the Austin one a couple years ago. was a seated theater-like room. if anyone goes to that one buy your tickets asap or you’ll get stuck with meh sound in the back corner like i did.

Damn, Cripple! You ain’t kiddin’! What did that Theatre at ACE used to be called? I was just looking at photos. It is friggin’ crazy! I kind of want to go to this stupid Barker-Tool show with y’all just to see the theatre, hahaha!!!

Just saw Jim Jefferies there a couple weeks ago. Manson is playing there in November.

The whole Broadway district in DTLA has been revitalized.

Yeah, The Paramount in Seattle is fancy as well. I was surprised to see that they’ll be playing there. I saw New Order there last year.

It’d be cool to see Paul Barker play, but I don’t like Puscifer. He should do another tour with a better band.

Just saw Jim Jefferies there a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for mentioning Jim…he’s crazy good!

Yeah, that’s an overly large and fancy venue, I would think.
The ticket prices are probably going to be ludicrous.

Two nights even. Maybe Grumpy can go down to Rhino Records again and score us free tickets when he buys a couple copies of Flowering Blight for $1.99.

I’m actually a big Tool fan, even if the last 2 albums sounded the same. But, for the life of me, I can’t get into Puscifer. I’m not even sure how to say the name out loud. Good for Barker I suppose. it didn’t occur to me till just now, but Puscifer is kind of a RevCo rip-off.

Oh yeah, the Majestic Theatre in Dallas is fancy pants. Saw Nick Cave there a year or two ago. When was that? I only recall yelling out “Warren Ellis and the Bad Seeds!” and everyone was all up tight about it. You just can’t be an asshole like you used to…but, yeah, the venue. It’s seated. Everyone fuckin sat for Nick. I dunno, maybe they pull the seats out of the joint for Pacifier.

Puss-if-err

I always joke that it’s Maynard’s version of Pigface.

And I like them. It’s sort of hit-or-miss, but they have some good stuff.

Pussy fur.

Honestly, though, I always thought it was pronounced “Poo-si-ferr” (rhymes with “Lucifer”).

I don’t know a single song they did, other than that silly “Country Boner” song that was played in the “Fix” movie. I know I tried looking into them on YouTube about 6-7 years back, but nothing spoke to me.

This is my favorite song by them:

[url https://youtu.be/sQ1Q2Mikduw]“Vagina Mine”

It’s also the song Paul did a remix of. The 1st album was very electronic and tribal sounding. Then they did a bunch of goofy singles. (The aforementioned “Country Boner”) The 2nd album is much more acoustic and mellow, like A Perfect Circle. The shows are quite strange, because they do it like a little stage play, there are characters coming and going.

I know there’s a lot of Maynard hate around here, and I do get it. But he does some weird stuff, and at least it’s interesting. To me, anyway. It reminds me of the early 90’s, when bands like the Butthole Surfers were just generally weird, and the shows were made for people on drugs.

Gunnar, you think it’s pronounced “Poo-ci-fur” because Maynard is a big piece of poo…

That is also very true.
He is a poo.

I cant go. The new kid will be only 3 weeks old and mrs. Smrf wont feel up to it. So this one is a no go for sure for me.

This is an odd turn of events…

I might drop cash on a front row balcony/mezzanine seat if there’s any available in a couple weeks, but I don’t know if I’m gonna wanna drop that kind of cash. Shows at the Fox Theater tend to be overpriced.
