So I’ve been listening to a lot of very different stuff here lately. Maybe I’m getting old or chilling out or diversifying or whatever you wanna call it. I was wanting to run the stuff I’ve been listening to lately by you peeps and see if you can recommend anything in the same veins. Would appreciate it.

Explosions In The Sky are an amazing band. Was listening to The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place; memorial is one of the best songs i’ve ever heard, imo. Yeah Yeah Yeah’s are pretty good too, enjoyed that last EP they did. Ever heard Godspeed You! Black Emperor? They had a song on 28 Days Later (East Hastings), instantly became one of my favorite bands.
But over the last year (or two i’ve developed completely new tastes:
Explosions In The Sky (got into them months ago; great band!)
Eric Avery (solo work/former jane’s addicton bassist)
A Silver Mt. Zion (And whatever name they’ve gone to since that)
Jesu
Meshuggah (decided to check them out last week, good stuff)
Sigur Ros
Bjork
Talking Heads (almost a year ago now)
Bunch of stuff I had heard before, but wasn’t into at the time that I absolutely adore now.
There’s a new Nick Cave out today.
Anyone heard it yet?
Is that “Dig Lazerus Dig”? That only came out today? Been hearing tracks on JJJ heaps recently, sounds really good. Bit more in the Vein of Grinderman than old seeds IMO. But me like.
I haven’t heard heaps of Cave, have had murder ballads and oh what album is it… the one with Do You Love me, Red RIght Hand etc on it on rotation. Those two are really great. I have heard a bunch of demos/unreleased stuff too, really depressing!
A lot of good stuff being listed here. I’m pretty hit or miss about LCD Soundsystem (have both albums). And I managed to get someone to go out and buy RHCP’s One Hot Minute; their best album, imo.

Well, I know all the bands you listed and have been listening to them for quite some time except for the ones that I originally started the thread with. If you like things in the line of EITS and G!YBE check out that El Ten Eleven I mentioned. nd Don Caballero. Very much in the same vein.
Pop Will Eat Itself- Box Frenzy
Neds Atomic Dustbin- God Fodder
Fleetwood Mac- Best of…
David Bowie- Earthling
NIN- Ghosts
Lamb- Between Darkness and Wonder (beautiful album!)

ust stuff I’ve been listening to on heavy rotation over the last month
Totally unrelated to ANYTHING on here, but I’ve been getting into a lot of trashy '90s house/EBM/IDM as of late, and right now, I’m on a HUGE Utah Saints kick…
