Nazi bastard, but has made two of my favourite albums of all time: God and Beast as well as Children of the Black Sun.
Better than Merzbow as well.

I don’t see the point of comparing to Merzbow as it’s a different style.
Saw NON live recently and was pleasantly surprised but in terms of the instrumental Noise component he couldn’t hold a candle to when I saw Merzbow live…

digusting. you hear people calling some artists racist and nazis, but this guy is for real.
Whenever I hear Boyd/NON discussed there’s always people that say he’s a NAZI. I don’t get it. I mean, I guess first off it depends on what someone’s definition of Nazi is, but I’ve never gotten the sense that he supports or believes in any sort of racial domination or anything. He probably isn’t gonna be joining the Jewish Defense League either, but he pretty much despises all religions (aside from his own, of course, which I’m sure he’ll quickly defend as “philosophy” and not religion (as if it matters).
He uses fascist imagery and has “Fascist” type ideology about feeling that the weak and lazy should be crushed and dominated by the motivated and strong, but I’ve always felt he was more Social Darwinist than “Nazi”.
Anyway, I’m not a Boyd fanboy, really, but I do find him very interesting and liked a good deal of his earlier stuff. I don’t particularly care if an artist is a “Nazi” or “racist” or whatever, but I think because Boyd has had the courage to be very HONEST and OPEN about his own beliefs and opinions it has made it convenient for some to label him with simplified tags.
Anyway, carry on . . . .

Thanks for the link. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard this. He’s still pretty cryptic but it seems for a supposed free-thinker and radical individualist he really lets himself be led by the hosts to serve their purpose.
I think he’s great and I’ve never found him “offensive” in the slightest. In many ways he’s a lot like me - except that I don’t have the social confidence to pull of what he does.
I like his music, but I think his “preaching” is better. And as far as social commentary goes, he shits all over that Biafra fellow.

I stand corrected.
He’s the high king of trolls.
I’m not sure what he really believes.
^That too! The most recent clip I saw of him he said “I don’t believe in beliefs.” HAHA!!
He’s on tour with Cold Cave. The bill is “featuring Boyd Rice” so I’m assuming he’s onstage with Wes doing his thing, whatever that is. Not sure if I should expect racist skinheads. I doubt Cold Cave would endanger their popularity with hipster types by letting him get his agenda across during their set, but at the same time there’s enough flirtation with fascist imagery within Cold Cave’s image. This is causing me conflict.
I wouldn’t really expect the Nazi set to flock to a Boyd show. I’d expect more old school industrial hipsters and wannabe intellectuals. It’s just not typically something that most skinheads flock too. You can’t really start a fight or a pit to most of Boyd’s music.
Some of you know i’m black and i listen to alot of boyd stuff and thought his part in ‘pranks’ was the best (JW knows).I’ve always thought of him as being ‘offensive’ for offensives sake you know? In a more juvenile since, just for the reaction.Sure, he has alot of the “strong will rule the weak” stuff going on. i just don’t see him belonging to any REAL right-wing hate groups though.

so associating and being interviewed by high ranking white supremacists isn’t enough evidence for you?

It certainly isn’t evidence for me.
He’s also been guest on shows hosted by liberals, Christians, you name it. I think he’d pretty much have taken any chance of exposure. Just because someone goes on someone’s show or talks to someone doesn’t mean you agree with them. Heck, Al Jourgensen was just on the Mancow show.
The Metzger interview is interesting to me. The Metzgers certainly have their own agenda for the show and slant things in such a direction, but Boyd never really comes out and says anything about being a racist or anything himself. He’s a bit hard to put his finger on and it’s difficult at times to tell if he’s just being lazy and allowing himself to be led by the interviewers or if he’s actually really calculating in NOT giving much more than he has to.
I wasn’t taking notes or anything, but again I challenge anyone to find an actual quote or statement from Boyd that would clearly identify him as Nazi or racist.

it’s different. metzger has a nich group with only one message and purpose: racism. mancow doesn’t stand for shit (except being an idiot, which Al is).
straight from his official website:
“Rice sparked further controversy through public flirtations with “Nazi” aesthetics and fascist ideology, a flaunted disregard for political correctness, and an espousal of antisocial doctrines such as Satanism, Social Darwinism and elitist misanthropy. The culmination of these affiliations and endorsements established Rice as one of the 1990s’ foremost countercultural antagonists and provocateurs, alienating many of his erstwhile fans.”

Well, I can’t really argue with any of that, haha!

None of the above is being debated or argued and has already been pointed out. “Nazi aesthetics” is a lot different than “racist agenda”.
A lot of artists (and fans) in the world of rock (and especially the “industrial” genre) flirt with Nazi aesthetics. Are Hanzel Und Gretel Nazis? Is Lemmy? Was Sid Vicious?
