Now here’s a band that needs to play MORE new material. I’m sick of hearing “Reptile”.
Anyway, no Atlanta date yet. But when that gets announced I’m all over it.
I’ve never seen NIN, I think this tour I’ll go. Should be fun and Trent’s playlists are varied and even (gasp at the concept) different from night to night.
besides being different, he throws songs into his setlist that you wouldn’t expect. THAT is great. When he played ‘The Big Comedown’ two summers ago, I was so pleased.

Umm I disagree. The NIN set lists are always extremely varied. Last time I saw him he pulled out some unexpected tracks like:
“Help Me I Am in Hell”
“Into the Void”
“The Big Comedown”
“Dead Souls”
EDIT: Oh, and Bauhaus was an awesome opener! Wtf are you complaining about?
I wonder if there will be anything from ghosts in the setlist. His site says the band has been “reformed”. What could that mean? Last time I saw them was in OKC when they taped the BYIT dvd.

also the chicago date is missing as they are headlining lollapalooza and the lineup for that isn’t released for another week. Rumor has it that will be Aug 3rd.

I see, it’s listed as “Duluth”.
Well, I’ll be there.
hey. i’m new to this forum after being invited by a few of you who are also members of dimeadozen. after hearing you bash Al so much the past few days, i’m really shocked to hear so much love for Trent. the Skinny Puppy forum is way too fucking cool for him. [;)] i never watch their official site due to the sporaditc nature of the updates, so thanks to this thread’s poster. thank god i now have a show to go to after deciding to stay home from the Ministry cover/karaoke fest this year.
NIN used to be notorious for static setlists but ever since 1999 have been really good about slightly mixing it up night-to-night making it much more fun to see more than one show or collect tapes.
just to keep this thread going, does anyone want to brag about how many times they have seen NIN? i’ve seen them 8 times, the first being the spring 1994 club tour. [:P]

hey rev - that dulth show is for us (atlanta). its at the gwinette center.

In the year or so after PHM came out, they played a lot of small club shows before going on the Lollapalooza circus. The shows I remember they opened up for the Jesus and Mary Chain, Meat Beat Manifesto, and Peter Murphy. (Its nice for Trent to return the favor albeit years later with Bauhaus opening for NIN). I lost interest after Broken came out so I skipped any shows since then, but I’ve listened to some of the recent stuff and its pretty cool so I might go to this show.
this is good. i saw them in august of 2007 finally, holy shit it was awesome. the setlist was very good, though it was standard 90 minutes.
but damn, i checked out the setlist changes for 2005/2006/2007 tours, now that’s what you can call a “career-spanning” setlist. up to 50 different songs ever played on single tour.
i hope they’ll have a chance of playing in russia again.

save for a few posters on Litany, a lot of people on that forum actually dig trent (me included, though i’m more 30/70 on his material).
people on here just don’t like what al is becoming, or became, in the past five years…which is understandable. it’s like a bum mule that should have been put down due to intense workload, but yet it somehow keeps dragging its hooves…

I hope it is reformed because his live band for 07 was in need of a clean up. Well Twiggy/Jordie is back with Manson again so thats him out id presume (not a bad thing as he was dull dull dull on stage). The 2 other guitarists he had last year were crap; looked like slacker teenagers thinking they were cool throwing their guitars on the ground.
I thought NIN line up for ‘Fragility’ in '00 was a great one.
