NIN tour (aka something worth seeing)

i didn’t like finck and lohner for some reason from the fragility lineups. charlie clouser was cool though.

it’s indeed interesting who would be in the touring lineup.

Barker perhaps… with twiggy out he could easily fit in.

hehe

yeah it would be interesting and i would totally dig that, but nin’s hired musicians are what they are - just hired goons to play their parts from the trent reznor’s directions and his song arrangements.

so i guess it’s better for paul to play in his new band ussa now, at least there he has a bit more complex basslines than ministry or nin.

That would be awesome if Paul was in. USSA cancelled their Euro tour - skinny oughta do it!

I lost interest after Broken came out so I skipped any shows since then, but I’ve listened to some of the recent stuff and its pretty cool so I might go to this show.

i’ve heard that a lot of ppl can’t move on post-PHM. in some ways good and some ways bad, his sound has changed from record to record. anyone into Ministry, of all bands, can relate to that! luckily i have dug most of his work save for the weird 1996-1998 era (David Bowie song, soundtracks, etc).

the “reformation”: his backing band has always been miming hired guns. Danny and Chris were extremely nice guys but Robin always looked like a stinky drag queen to me. i always hated him from day one. [:P] watch him “play” closer at woodstock and you’ll see what a douche he is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODLui8Hu1sc Aaron North is equally as lame w/his jumpkicks and standing on his head. at the end of the 2007 tour, i recall reading a quote from Trent saying that “the rock incarnation of NIN is over” and that he wanted to do more live work from laptops which i was really looking forward to seeing because it’d be the most honest show he’d ever put on. if “the band’s back together” that would be really lame IMO. [:(]

He lost money on that tour, and I think he was just planning to do that to try to save some dough. I wouldn’t be surprised if he changed his mind - I’m not sure the general public would go for an arena tour played from laptops.

Seems to me like he at least tried doing that in 2007. Where’s Josh and Geordie?

Really comes off like a three piece there to me. It’s cool, but i’d probably prefer an actual live band. For the year zero songs, it’s fine I guess. But not Broken and Downward Spiral.

How do you lose money on a sold out tour? well at least sold out or almost sold out in Aus. 3 shows in NSW and in VIC,(unusual for a “rock” band, usually they sell out here and then go oh well, other fans miss out), then again he did have to come back to Aus months later to play two of the NSW shows because he was “sick”.

well he can’t blame the US because he didn’t play a single show here in 2007! they did a lot of festivals, so maybe those just don’t pay well.

yes, they did the laptop thing last year and it looked/sounded fine to me. of course i’m also into Kraftwerk… [:P]

on second thought, laptops would seem kinda lame in an arena (unless you are Kraftwerk). i guess it was just wishful thinking that they’d try something different this time around.

Fuck yea get 'em Big Paul yea yeaaeee

hey. i’m new to this forum after being invited by a few of you who are also members of dimeadozen. after hearing you bash Al so much the past few days, i’m really shocked to hear so much love for Trent. [:P]

Oh then in that case…TRENT SUCKS DONKEY DIDDLEZ AND IS ABOUT AS ARTISTIC AS A WALRUS GETTING GAY RAPED!

shut the fuck up faggottooth.

I’m utterly jealous of the forthcoming US tour.

They better come to the UK this year…[pirate]

I hope he swings by NYC.

How excited am I? Robin Finck is back where he belongs in the live NIN line up…Wooohooo [:)][cool]

I wonder if Reznor will apologise for stating that Aaron North pissed all over Robins shoes…

still, happy dayz.
