NIN & Soundgarden

Went to see them at Jones Beach last night. Both were great. Soundgarden basically played all the hits and Trent did a mix. I don’t think he played anything off of The Fragile.

About to see them tonight!

I wanted to go but it was too rich for my blood. I was more psyched for Soundgarden than NIN, although NIN does do great shows live…

Too bad about Death Grips, for real

About to see them tonight!

Damn! That concert should (in theory) kick major ass.

Let us know how it went…

Camden was best then Holmdel. Jones Beach did not sound as great from where I was sitting.

Will post a link to photos tomorrow.

Basically the review was this - Soundgarden put on a good show, mostly hits, but NIN blew them out of the water.

Nailed it!

For sure

Yes the review is accurate. Soundgarden was good but NIN took the cake.

I’ve never been too keen on Soundgarden anyway (okay, just rather lacking in… something…) but I can imagine that plenty of 30 something alt-rockers dig them, so I’m pleased to see NIN getting praised in recent reviews. I caught them in London earlier this year and I really enjoyed it, but it seems weird that they’re playing even more conservative setlists on this tour. Anyway, this review was a bit odd: http://noisey.vice.com/en_ca/read/we-saw-nine-inch-nails-toronto-concert-molson-amphitheatre

That vice review is more or less how I felt about seeing Nine Inch Nails in late 05, summer2006.

I’d like to see them again, but not at an amphitheatre with seating.
I dont know why they havent played the Bill Graham Civic in SF already
(Tool sounded impeccable at that venue).

I found it interesting that they were touring with Soundgarden, as not too long ago TR slagged on Chris Cornell over that solo album he released, with the April Fools ‘Strobelight’ joke.

Hey Mooney, I’m too lazy and don’t have time right now to really look through your posts like I should, but if you’re attending all of these shows why don’t you stop being a faggot and hook THIS guy* up with a ticket or two? I’ve seen them plenty but NIN isn’t a band I’ll ever grow tired of seeing live. Always something new.

I mean, no big deal if you can’t hook a guy up. Just means you’re a big ol lesbo but these days there’s nothing wrong with that.

  • In case you couldn’t tell I was referring to me. Me. This nigga wants tickets for himself and if possible his bitch.

If you ever need NIN tickets, post your request on ETS, the FB tour/event page, or the forum; I am the ‘ticket lady’ for any of the shows that I attend.

I had one extra ticket for Tampa, FL. Nobody claimed it. There were many tickets on this tour that went to waste due to people buying multiple sets of tickets because of the shitty pre-sale/Platinum ticketing.

We decided on the PA/NY/NJ area this time due to being able to see three shows and the weather being cooler. We didn’t have much time to decide on location due to the time the tour announcement was made and when the tickets went on sale, but we had it narrowed down to either the tri-state, California, or Texas for this tour. Texas was ruled out due to the heat/the venues being amphitheaters and CA due to we having already been there in 2009 for the Wave Goodbye tour.

I also have glow in the dark poster #301/400.

Camden and Tampa rocked.

Educational Testing Service. They’re the people that make up the SATs.

A friend of mine saw the tour last night. She said Trent is officially retiring from touring.

Normally when a rock star says something like that they contradict themselves within a few years, or sooner in Al’s case. Did he say he wasn’t going to tour again, or do NIN again at some point before? I think he may have done in the last few years.
