Last time he said it would be “the last NIN tour for the foreseeable future.” I dunno if last night’s show is the first time he made this announcement, but I’m pretty sure he’s done for real this time if he’s saying it in the middle of a tour like this. Personally, I wish the 2008 tour would’ve been the last.
His kid’s about old enough to start school right? He’ll tour again when he needs cash. The tuition at The Sean Lennon Academy for Rock Star Progeny ain’t cheap!
He sounds like he is pretty much taking a hiatus from touring that could eventually lead to never touring NIN again (just like in 2009): The chat he gave in Tampa was something to the effect of he didn’t know if he would ever play another show in Tampa ever again.
He’s 49; he’s got at least another good 15 years or so in him of being on stage. Plus, you know he will not stop creating.
Who knows? He may play a few small club shows at the end of the tour like he did in 2009. We will see.
id love to see them

/\ Ha, holy shit, I was at that same NIN show at the Gorge. That was my first NIN show actually . I’ve seen them a total of 7 times, somehow. But that first time was very memorable.
It will be interesting to see where NIN goes from here. I’ve no doubt they will tour again, but considering how much he’s done this year and last I’m guessing we might not see the like again. The past year has seen mostly Best Of sets - short, all the hits, low on new material… plus, two shows have been filmed to add to the existing Tension film that was set for release. This makes me wonder if we’ll finally get the Best Of album to go along with the live DVD.
So thinking about it… yeah, we’ll see a farewell tour in 2015. Just to see Trent quit NIN before he hits 50.
