nin is over

Schooly D! The Eno albums are both great too. I think I’ll track down some of your other faves.

That said, I do enjoy NIN and probably always will (except “The Fragile” that album’s shit).

re: Maggit tooth’s post

I’d been thinking for some time about starting a thread like ‘Post Pics Of Your Fave Album Covers’ here but wasn’t sure. Some mods don’t like it because of restrictions on server space.

Can we do that here?

I live in the real world though…where good music doesn’t have a logo as a title and mediocrity as its content.

Your sentence is poetry, very nice toot!

Its no secret around here that Maggit loves the Dub. Have you by chance ever listened to Sheriff Lindo and the Hammer’s Ten Dubs that Shook The World? Its a 1988 Australian release produced and mastered by Richard Fielding, and Tom Ellard the founding members of Severed Heads. It was rereleased in 2005 on cd, pretty good stuff.

wow i actually have or have heard a bunch of those… Good choice with mr tobin. You into wagonchrist at all?

Dude Wagon Christ RULES!!! Ninja Tune Records has soooo many awesome artists it’s insane. You should check out the debut Pest album which I listed. That’s amazing.

At the momment the only records I’m buying are Dubstep 12"s and Skweee 7"s. For me personally that is the freshest and deadliest shit on the planet at the momment.

BAD BLOOD.

FUCK YEAH.

That is the heaviest record on the planet. I love it when Broadrick & Martin go all Hip Hop & Dubwise on our ass!!! Martin (aka Bug) is now making deadly Dubstep records and release’s mainly on Ninja Tune.

One thing I will say about Reznor is he knows his music and whats going on…I mean he was a wise man jumping on Saul Williams and now he’s got Bug supporting him. Regardless it’s good promo for Dubstep.

The Slits are awesome, good choice. Have you heard the “Revenge of the Killer Slits” Ep? Slits Tradition is a damn fine track.

Yeah I’ve got that one too. The Slits were the illest Punk band around…along with Rezillos.

Good call on Panda Bear and Eno.

But The Rezillos?

The Rezillos?

I fucking hate the Rezillos.

You’re INSANE! How can anyone hate “Somebodies Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight”???

The Rezillos are the coolest band around. Infact I saw them last December and they were easily the most bad-ass live show I’ve seen. They really do make other bands sound like pussies when they play live. I’ve seen them numerous times over the years and they just get better and better. They’re the tightest, funkiest, punkiest cool cats around and you just don’t get a better kick ass live show than a Rezillos one…I was chuffed to the max when they got back together and fucking blown away by the live shows. I mean usually when a great Punk band gets back together they’re kind of lame…not the Rezillos though my friend.

I suggest you listen to “Can’t Stand The Rezillos” again at a high volume.

Hell yeah!

Start off with Aceyalone’s “A Book Of Human Language” and “Sly & Robbie Stripped To The Bone By Howie B”. www.discogs.com or amazon and you should pick them up fairly cheap.

Sounds cool…will have to track it down. Thanks for the heads up.

Just because it has a logo and it isn’t ground breaking it doesn’t mean it sucks. I think NIN music is still inventive… it picks up different styles and mixes them in an a very enjoyable way. That’s my opinion but you know what they say about opinions…

yep. opinions are like assholes - everybody has one.

ghosts didn’t do much for me, the slip was also pretty mediocre. ghosts felt like a collection of unused song blueprints, despite the statement from reznor that it was all just a collection of live studio jams. the slip felt like a collection of lesser year zero outtakes.

the following tour had amazing visuals though, i wish i could see it live. the main nin problem for me right now is that his vocals degraded alot, it was apparent even on 2005/2007 tour rehearsals (which some dude recently shared on the internet), but it seems that his vox got even worse.

i hope he will play a show or two in russia again, the 2007 ones were great.

Nine Inch Nails To Tour With Jane’s Addiction

Posted on Tuesday February 17, 2009 at 08:44 AM 7 |

In what could be one of the more exciting tours to hit the road this year, Nine Inch Nails will travel with the original Jane’s Addiction lineup in what may be NIN’s last blast on the concert stage.

NIN and Janes?! I may just jizz(wad) myself.

i fucking love jane’s. so…so…much, more than any NIN…

anyone hear a fan of Porno For Pyros too? their last album was one of the best of the 90s imo

I’d hold Jane’s to be one the best rock bands ever. Porno for Pyros were a way too underrated band. ‘Good God’s Urge’ is a favourite of mine. I discovered it about 8 or 9 years ago and have played it countless times since. The self titled album is good but it was surpassed by GGU which, as you’ve correctly pointed out, was easily one the best of the 90s.

One thing about Jane’s though is I cant stand Navarro.

Navarro’s become a tool, but he can still play the fuck out of a guitar. Awesome news, indeed.

i still get off on Good god’s urge… hell the intro to the title track has to have one of the most soothing basslines i’ve ever heard in my life. God bless mike watt for that gift

I remember hating Good God’s Urge the first time I heard it. But after awhileit grew to be one of my favorite albums of all time. Tahitian Moon is catchy as fuck!

Yea Navarro is a pussy, but his guitar kills. I’m listening to Ocean Size right now in honor of this great news.
