As with every year, let’s get a thread started on this. Hawks are in (barely) having to face to Vancouver, Coyotes face Detroit, Washington face NY Rangers and many more. This is a very unpredictable year as far as which team will sail through to win the Cup but I may have to say the Pens if they get and stay healthy.
Hawks looked like they had some momentum a couple of weeks ago but they seem to have lost it. I don’t see them going all the way again this year, but you never know. I do hope they beat the Canucks though just to piss off the Vancouver yuppies. The Ducks, Penguins and Sabres all have been hot lately, we’ll see if they stay that way. It’s been a crazy season (especially in the Western Conference), so it should be an entertaining post-season as well.
Yeah, the Western Conference is scary this year. Every series is up for grabs (even the Hawks present matchup problems for the Canucks). I hate that Phoenix drew Detroit again this season, but it’s probably a better matchup than trying to go 7 games with San Jose. I went to the 1st round games last year, and there’s nothing worse than being surrounded by Red Wings fans in your home arena. Phoenix hasn’t advanced past the first round since they came to town, so the Yotes have a couple of monkeys to get off their backs - beating the Red Wings, and winning a playoff series! We took one or two in their crib this season, so we may have a chance. I think the Flyers-Sabres series will be a good one, and the Bruins and Habs will fight more than they score.

I’m still frustrated that the Stars didnt make the big show, after leading the pacific division for pretty much the entire season!!! Now they find themselves DEAD LAST and out of the playoffs… Injuries and shit! Then somehow someway they pull off a small winning streak to stay alive in the chase all they had to do is beat the Wild to ensure a playoff spot and they blew that too.
[:(][:(]
The ducks barely made it in (same with the kings.)
Cory Perry is playing off his ass (hat trick the other night 50 goals in a season etc etc) and I really got to give credit to the substitute Goal tenders for the Ducks since Hiller has become injured. That all being said I think the Ducks Will be out in the first round.
I’m really pulling for the coyotes I really like that team. (Well I really like Brizgolov) But I’d much rather have the Coyotes play the sharks over the red wings. The Sharks rarely make it that far into the play offs, so the coyotes would have better odds against the sharks. Don’t know that much about the eastern conference but the habs and the bruins sounds like a fun series to watch.
I feel like I have no pony in the race this year as I don’t give the ducks much of a shot based on injuries or the coyotes based on the red wings in the first round. I don’t mind the kings but their kinda the back burner team I feel no real love for them (although I think Jonathan Quick and Jack Johnson are phenomenal players. Plus, the kings have Dustin Penner, formally of the Ducks now traded back to cali from the Oilers) but I think the Fans of the Kings really keep me from liking the team. Who wants to be associated with assholes?

After offing Washington and Pittsburgh last year, I still think the Canadiens can pull it off.
While unlikely, still a dream.
ps. Leafs didn’t make the playoffs 6 years in a row. classic.

Sad. Though, you know, Hawks didn’t make it for 10 years only to come back with a vengeance and steal it. I guess that’s better than a Buffalo who just can’t get it no matter what. So, I guess, in time they will. After all, I don’t think they can get any more worse (they are improving slowly).

that’s cause they picked up, past his prime, too injured to play, js giguere.
they need to invest in a real goal tender and not just a name.

Damn ducks were destroyed last night on home ice 4-1!!!
The coyotes were destroyed by the red wings, turned the game before it got worse, so I didn’t see the final score.
Kings in OT as I type 2-2. I’m thinking the Kings will make it to the 2nd round just cause the Sharks hardly ever get deep into the playoffs.
Haven’t seen whats happened in the East…

Holy shit the Hawks are shellacking the Canucks for the second night in a row!!! We might still be in this one!

Yea after 3-0 I was glad it was time for the kings sharks game to start. Luongo is getting the shit beat out of him… what was it the other day 6-2? Now its 3-0, at least? Thats like 6 unasnwered goals in the last 2 games! They need to yank luongo and put in the back up at least that way they have an excuse for the beating they’re taking!

7-2 last night, 5-0 shutout tonight… Luongo got pulled after giving up the fourth goal in the second period… ouch!
2nd over time for Vancouver and Nashville!!
Vancouver is all up on the Nashville goalie but can’t send it over the line! fun game! I’d be ok with Vancouver taking the cup
San Jose up 1 - 0 in the seres with Detroit. Are they gonna make it past the 2nd round too? shocking!!

THis has got to be the farthest the San Jose Sharks have ever made it into the playoffs!! They’re officially in uncharted waters! (HA! Genius joke!)
Sharks started out 3-0 in the series and the redwings pushed it to 7 games so it was still almost like the sharks tried to lose!!
Never really been a sharks fan but I’m stoked for them that they’ve made it this far.
Looking forward to the canucks and the sharks now. even though I’m a cali resident I’m completely rooting for the canucks.

In the west it seems like it’s almost identical to last year. Sharks beat Detroit and are facing the Canucks again, who they also beat last year. I’m going for the Canucks though.
My ex girlfriend is from Vancouver and during the regular season she would be a little piss head about how the Canucks are going to win it all. BOY! would I love to see the Sharks completely smash them.
I know it would be good for hockey if the Canucks won it all, but I’m going for the Sharks on this one [:)]

that’s understandable.
I’d be alright with the sharks winning too, because, for the most part, they’re local and it seems they always get bounced out of the playoffs super quick… I pretty much chose the canucks just cause based on each teams history (over the last 10 years or so) they are more of the underdog than the sharks.

Go Canucks.
