But seriously, even though the Canucks are our rivals (Blackhawks fan here), I’m rooting for them because a) they have been underdogs and deserve to win after 40 years of being in the NHL (and existing as a franchise long before the NHL accepted them, and how hard they’ve played this season, and b) If they win the salary caps will fuck them like they did the Blackhawks and every team that wins the cup
I still like the salary caps though, it keeps the NHL from having a “Yankees-like” organization that consistently dominates based on money alone.
I still hate Luongo though… don’t know why really… just one of those things…
So…what the hell is wrong with the Canucks? Playing like shit. 5-1?
They seeme to be getting blown out when they lose. They lost like 8-1 in game 3 or somewhere around there! Ill be completely shocked to see the canucks win. I think boston owns this cup!

I like Vancouver. But since game 3, Boston pressed the button and brought rape - slow, deep, and hard. I ended up turning it off. It was a slaughter, not a game.
Yeah, what like 80% of every team is Canadian anyway…
But about the playoffs, even though the Canucks beat my Blackhawks I wanted them to win so the salary caps would fuck them and it would be one major stepping stone out of our way (in all likelihood)
But the Canucks were just so damn dirty that they deserved to lose, aand Tim Thomas really deserved to win based on his performance, so I ended up rooting for Boston in the end.
But yeah the riots were nutty… I’ve been to Vancouver and the downtown is very “yuppie” and gentrified so it was somewhat surprising… I guess there have been riots in Montreal in the past, but Montreal seems way more European than Vancouver. It made the Canucks and their fan-base look really bad, I’m surprised they didn’t rush the stadium and burn Luongo at the stake!
When two of your main players, the ones who get the big bucks, scores only one goal amongst them in all 7 games of the Finals, then yes, you will lose. This, over an arrogant goalie (didn’t he criticize Thomas for letting in one goal after he himself let in 8 goals in one game?!).
Boston deserved it and I am happy that Kaberle, a former Leafs player, has won the Cup. He was outstanding in the playoffs for Boston I felt, despite media criticism. Also, obviously, Tim Thomas, who was so solid and more importantly, consistent.
I love it nowadays too - who would have thought Boston and Vancouver would be in the Finals?? Good to see all sorts of teams reaching the Finals.
