I’m surprised no one has caught and called attention to this.
As always, whether or not it actually materializes is another story, but . . . it seems pretty clear Chris and Al are cozy again. At least for now, haha.
“SIN Absolutely. Its already something where weve taken that next step. I have a handful of new ideas, real 70s vibe, thats the shit Im bringing to the table, and Im sure more ideas will develop in the studio. Its gonna be myself, Swamp, Al (Jourgensen), Chris Connelly and Phildo (Owen). Those are the five right now that are in the mix of this new album and its something that is going to happen.”
Took me about 7 years of talking mad shit and protesting it before I finally bought it about two years back (gotta love those 13th Planet clearance sales and their 99 cent CD’s) but I eventually got that SEXXX-O-OLYMPIC-O album and thought it was actually pretty cool.

Yea, we talked about that on here already.[/reply]
My bad.
I looked through the threads and didn’t see it anywhere.
Maybe it was buried in something.
Anyway, if this thread is a duplicate I can delete it.

No need to delete it. We can talk about it again.[/reply]
All good. Thanks. Sorta thread worthy anyway.
I did find it tacked into the thread about Connelly doing “So What”.
Anyway, I’m pretty stoked to hear about this.
Connelly’s voice was always really cool with Revolting Cocks sleazy vibe. It just fit well.
And I think with DJ Swamp in the roster as well, they could do some more of that wack ass scratching and funky shit that gave the 90’s albums some of the hip hop feel.
We’ll see. It is fun to see Al and the guys trying some new shit and also extending the side projects once again.
I talk just as much shit about the nu-RevCo lineup as anyone but I will freely admit that Olympic-O kick ass. Got Cock is just so godawful that I guess it balances out?

Yeah, I loved Sex-O-Olympic-O. That one feels like it was inspired, like the new guys were really excited to be part of Revolting Cocks. The next felt less like they wanted to do it and more like Al cracking some sort of contractual whip to get them to grind out some product in his drunken scam to turn RevCo into a revolving franchise.
The new Stayte album came out recently, btw. It’s not bad at all.
The fact that this thread just got made is doubly amusing because just this morning I was reading a circle-jerk on another site from ex-fans angry about all the Trump stuff saying that the only way unhinged-leftist Al/his bands could possibly be salvaged would be if he reconnected with Chris Connelly, which is obviously never gonna happen…
Who’s gonna tell them that Connelly doesn’t like Trump either?

HAHAHAHAHA!!! I always laugh when I see those “Fuck Ministry, I’m done!” posts because Al did the “Antifa” song or hates Trump. I mean, did they think Al was a Republican before? He was always as left-wing and politically-outspoken as it gets. I find a lot of it tedious too, but I sure am not going to have a heart attack to find out Al made another song about how much Trump, Bush, Fox News, or our government in general sucks ass.
Did they shit their pants when Jello wore a “Nazi Trumps Fuck OFF” shirt as well?
Especially amusing because part of the reason Al and Chris reconnected is BECAUSE of their mutual dislike of Trump.
And I think maybe some of these guys just listened to Ministry/RevCo because it sounded mean and violent, but never bothered to think of the nature of the content.

I pointed that out to one; he didn’t respond, but made sure to delete his post that I was responding to.

Bingo. There are plenty of scholarly essays out there by now, but this weird phenomenon of people being shocked and offended by guys like Al, Trent, Marilyn Manson etc. not being Trump supporters has a lot to do with a certain subset of angry disaffected working-class following their music in the past because it was angry and disaffected without really bothering to read into the intent, and only just now putting thought into it because that’s just how good a salesman Trump and his entourage are for their own agenda, but not thinking retroactively about the previously-existing stuff they formed their music tastes around. It’s the only reason people who’ve been following Al’s music for decades and were cool with his Bush-bashing are confused and upset now. I’ve seen people post long-ass multi-paragraph rants about how it doesn’t make any sense for Trent Reznor to not be 100% pro-Trump based on his societal views expressed in the past and I think that says a lot.
^Agree with all of the above. It’s been quite funny seeing the aftermath of “AntiFa”. Did these people not notice the 3 albums of anti-Bush material? Bush is a Republican, Trump is a Republican. You can’t see the connection?
Anyway, I’m excited to see what this new combo produces.
And yeah, I really liked Sex-O. Always thought it was unfairly maligned.
Sin actually likes the disco boogie stuff (“Saturday Night Fever” is one of his all time favorite albums). When I read that “70’s” reference, I really thought he was implying the funky groovy hairy sweaty 70’s . . .

Good God, I hope you didn’t read the rant. What a waste of digital space.

It’s weird, I’ve discussed/read/heard IRL from quite a lot of Trump supporters who hated Bush and his administration for essentially the same reason Al did, consider him one of the worst presidents, and in the cases of some Ministry fans were cool with/agreed with/still agree with those records, but are totally convinced that Trump has singlehandedly saved human society and will go down in history as one of the greatest men to ever live because he’s a hardcore anti-establishment rebel who doesn’t go for the usual pathological lying and self-serving behavior of politicians like, well, Bush. I hate using hyperbolic terms like “brainwashing” when it comes to discussions about mainstream politicians but…
Good God, I hope you didn’t read the rant. What a waste of digital space.
Did these people even hear ABOUT “Year Zero”?
That particular guy thought it was at least partially about democrats but basically just about ‘politicians in general’ and used it as part of his argument because, as established, Trump is an anti-establishment rebel at the forefront of a working class revolution.
Did they shit their pants when Jello wore a “Nazi Trumps Fuck OFF” shirt as well?
Actually, some of them did. It was funny as shit because there were people who were familiar with ‘the hits’ but hadn’t followed Jello’s later career that honestly thought the anti-fascist stuff in those DK songs were specifically about liberals since the most popular version of California Uber Alles has Jerry Brown in its asshole-politician-madlibs spot which has also been occupied by Reagan and Schwarzenegger.
In fact I’ve noticed a lot of fans of ‘heavy’/‘dark’ music (like, including the aforementioned NIN and Dead Kennedys ex-casual-fans) who skew towards Trump just kind of assumed that the more outspoken anti-fascism/anti-bigotry/anti-totalitarian messages (such as the ones in Year Zero and Nazi Punks Fuck Off) in all the music they’ve been listening to were referring specifically to the left, “the REAL nazis”, this whole time. The implications really make you think.
