[reply]^Agree with all of the above. It’s been quite funny seeing the aftermath of “AntiFa”. Did these people not notice the 3 albums of anti-Bush material? Bush is a Republican, Trump is a Republican. You can’t see the connection?
It’s weird, I’ve discussed/read/heard IRL from quite a lot of Trump supporters who hated Bush and his administration for essentially the same reason Al did, consider him one of the worst presidents, and in the cases of some Ministry fans were cool with/agreed with/still agree with those records, but are totally convinced that Trump has singlehandedly saved human society and will go down in history as one of the greatest men to ever live because he’s a hardcore anti-establishment rebel who doesn’t go for the usual pathological lying and self-serving behavior of politicians like, well, Bush. I hate using hyperbolic terms like “brainwashing” when it comes to discussions about mainstream politicians but…
Good God, I hope you didn’t read the rant. What a waste of digital space.
Did these people even hear ABOUT “Year Zero”?
That particular guy thought it was at least partially about democrats but basically just about ‘politicians in general’ and used it as part of his argument because, as established, Trump is an anti-establishment rebel at the forefront of a working class revolution.
Did they shit their pants when Jello wore a “Nazi Trumps Fuck OFF” shirt as well?
Actually, some of them did. It was funny as shit because there were people who were familiar with ‘the hits’ but hadn’t followed Jello’s later career that honestly thought the anti-fascist stuff in those DK songs were specifically about liberals since the most popular version of California Uber Alles has Jerry Brown in its asshole-politician-madlibs spot which has also been occupied by Reagan and Schwarzenegger.
In fact I’ve noticed a lot of fans of ‘heavy’/‘dark’ music (like, including the aforementioned NIN and Dead Kennedys ex-casual-fans) who skew towards Trump just kind of assumed that the more outspoken anti-fascism/anti-bigotry/anti-totalitarian messages (such as the ones in Year Zero and Nazi Punks Fuck Off) in all the music they’ve been listening to were referring specifically to the left, “the REAL nazis”, this whole time. The implications really make you think.[/reply]
What can you do? Paul Ryan was once quoted as saying Rage Against The Machine was his favorite band. That’s right! Mr. Paul “Stop Being So Poor And Everything Will Work Out” Ryan.
