Lads, I have to say on repeated listens this album is actually pretty good. Better than the Flowering Blight album and obviously better than anything nu-Ministry/RevCo have tried over the past 10 years.
Apart from the Momsen misfire each track is at least worth the buck. The Connelly songs get better and better and the Puscifer remix song is very cool, at least the bass is.
I like this a lot.
Not too keen on the vocals on the first track… just too arosmithy or like early 90s motley crue. But the rest is really good. The connelly tracks are fantastic.

Agreed. Bought the cd/dvd thingy. Weird there’s NO tracklisting to be found anywhere. Could he have at LEAST printed the tracklist on the cd itself? Anyway. The first track is utter shit but it gets better after that…much better. Ogre stuff is cool (digging reSpite very much even after hearing only the first few seconds of it) and Heroine’s Habit sounds like something that SHOULD have made it on to Darkside Of The Spoon. Connelly is in fine form here too.
All in all a very pleasing release from the skinny man.
After a few spins, I agree. The first track while I don’t hate it… feels a bit overblown, it’s not nearly as well balanced(?) as the track with female vox from Perfect Pair, she’s a bit more bombastic I guess. And yes it picks up from there, the rest is pretty good, the last 3 cuts or so-so IMO… the Mansonish one is just bad, the other 2 are better.
Hell even if you said all 4 of those cuts are crap, it’s still 7 decent to good cuts which is better than Relapse or Last Sucker. In retrospect Rio Grande Blood is looking better and HOTM seems downright good.
I’m liking the dvd but none too keen on the cd. Feels like an odds and sods type of thing and not particularly realised in any sense. Material here is pretty thin. Probably won’t get more than a few listens out of me.
I’m still holding out for the package that doesn’t include the CD, DVD or the gay artwork.
says the guy with the gayest avatar i’ve ever seen. wouldn’t it be right up your alley?[/reply]
and by “up your alley” he means up your ASS, fag!
Late,

got to listen to the cd a few times…and it’s great! paul shows yet again that he was the magic behind the ministry music. tis the doom/gloom sound i’ve been missing. i’ll definitely be buying a copy of the cd whenever i get a chance :D.
[reply]whole thing is pretty great. i really fig the momsen track,
Glad to know I’m not the only one that loves that track.[/reply]
IMHO i think it’s one of the stronger ones of the disc. you can kinda tell she is a pop singer because sometimes on the verse she does the where she sounds like she’s trying to sing through a smile or something (i dunno how to describe it), but she fucking kills it on the chorus. I was surprised that she sings it hard enough to almost “crack” or “break” her voice on the chorus. really a balls out vocal delivery. IMHO, of course.
Yeah I’m totally digging the Momsen track too. The whole disc is truly excellent. I’m thinking that some of these tracks have been collected over the last few years? I wonder if Paul has other music that he has been cooking up lately?
Found some more songs on youtube. CC has reprised his Bowie-esque vox on Evangelical Sound Barrier and I love it. Heroine’s Habit kicks ass and Rows Upon Rows is the best track USSA has done.
